Fishing Report – 07.04.19-13.04.19
There was a cold east wind all week which kept the fish down around 4 to 6 feet deep. The Island, Dam and Boats were the best areas although on Saturday it was almost too breezy for fishing the island. Some superb Tigers were landed again this week along with a double figure Brown which was safely returned. Water clarity remains excellent and, despite the cold wind and some overnight frost, the water temperature rose by one degree over... the course of the week. Most of the fish are still being caught on lures or nymphs with favourite patterns being Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Ally McCoist, Hot-head Damsel, Green Nymph, Diawl Bach, Bloodworm and Buzzer. A few wet flies such as Kate McLaren were also taking fish. The Fishery is open Monday to Wednesday, 8.00am to 6.00pm; Thursday to Sunday 8.00am to 8.00pm.

Fishing Report – 24.03.19-30.03.19
There was a cool breeze for most of the week, but despite this the water temperature rose from 6oC to 8oC. Water clarity remains excellent which means that the Goldies can be seen cruising around the ponds. Over the course of the week the fish were to be found at various depths from around 4 or 5 feet deep right up to about 2 feet below the surface. They were also to be found in various different areas of the pond with the Island, Far Ba...y and Dam all being the favourite spots at different times. A few more Browns were hooked this week and the Tigers continue to give excellent sport. A good number of fish in the 4lb to 6lb range were landed this week including Rainbows, Golds, Tigers and Browns. The usual lures are still taking a good number of the fish but many were attracted by Snatchers, Crunchers and Diawl Bach, with Buzzers also catching a few.
The Fishery is open this week as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – 8.00am to 6.00pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday – 8.00am to 8.00pm

Fishing Report – 17.03.19-23.03.19
The week started with snow lying and a water temperature of 4oC; towards the end of the week the water temperature had risen to 9oC before dropping back down to 7oC on Saturday. The water remains very clear and conditions are very good. Although the Browns are not too keen on getting caught yet, the Tigers are more than making up for them with several in the 4lb to 5lb range being landed. Some Golds around the same size also feature in ...this week’s returns. The fish were in various areas of the main pond during the week depending on water temperature. Early in the week they were in the channel and to be found deep down but as the week went on they moved to the area around the big tree, the Far Bay, Boat Jetty and Dam wall. The usual lures were taking fish along with nymphs such as Damsel, Cormorant, Diawl Bach and Hare’s Ear. The Fishery is open every day from 8.00am t0 6.00pm

Fishing Report – 10.03.19-16.03.19
The stormy weather kept the anglers away this week. Around 4 inches of precipitation fell this week with snow at the beginning and end of the week and driving rain accompanied by gale force winds in between. Despite all the rain the water remained reasonably clear and not too dirty. Water temperature rose from 3.5oC on Sunday to 5oC on Saturday but is likely to drop a little in the coming days as there is overnight frost forecast. In ...general, the fish were around 4 to 6 feet down and to be found all round the main pond with the Dam and boat areas fishing best at certain times. The usual lures and nymphs were successful this week with favourite patterns including Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Black Lure, Damsel, Diawl Bach, and Buzzer, The Brown Trout season started slowly but with regular stockings of both Browns and Tigers there should be some great sport to be had over the coming months. The Fishery remains open every day from 8.00am to 6.00pm

Fishing Report – 03.03.19-09.03.19
It was a mixed week weather-wise with strong cold winds, very heavy rain and some frost. The water temperature dropped from 5.5oC at the start of the week to 4oC on Saturday morning with the clarity remaining very good apart from a short spell midweek after the heavy rain. The fish were reasonably active and to be found at various depths throughout the week. They were moving round the main pond and at different times the far side, the b...oat jetty, the dam, overflow and island were all the best places to be. Several Tigers and Browns, including some big ones, featured in the catch returns and with a good number of both to be stocked over the coming weeks things are looking good for the start of the Brown Trout season next Saturday. Most fish were taken on lures or nymphs this week with Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, White Fritz, Ally McCoist, Woolly Bugger, Daiwl Bach, Hare’s Ear and Buzzer the most successful patterns. The Fishery is open every day from 8.00am to 6.00pm

Fishing Report – 24.02.19-02.03.19
The fishing continued to be very good this week. At the beginning of the week the fish were very active and were to be found all round the main pond. Water temperature was around 6.5oC and the fish were just below the surface. Bright sunshine midweek sent them a bit deeper and a slower retrieve was needed. Towards the end of the week they were back up around 2 to 4 feet down. Water conditions are very good with excellent clarity ma...king the Golds very visible most days. The area from the dam to the boats was fishing very well early in the day with the island coming into its own in the afternoons. On Saturday the island was the hotspot all day. The usual lures and nymphs were taking fish with favourite patterns including Cat’s Whisker, Dancer, Ally McCoist, Damsel, Diawl Bach, Cormorant and Hare’s Ear. Buzzers were doing very well on the small ponds. The Fishery is open from 8.00am to 6.00pm every day.

Fishing Report – 17.02.19-23.02.19
It was a much milder week and reasonably dry, although there was a cool breeze at times. The water temperature fluctuated around 6o to 7oC which made the fish move to different areas of the main pond at different times. Sometimes they were to be found around the island, then at the dam, over to the far side, back to the dam and in the channel. Generally, they were 3 to 4 feet down early in the week, rising to the top 2 feet as the weeken...d approached and then slightly deeper again on Saturday. The water clarity remains excellent and the Golds could be clearly seen cruising around most days. Intermediate lines were better than floating although a few anglers were trying dry flies, mostly with limited success. The usual selection of lures and nymphs were taking fish with favourite patterns including Cat’s Whisker, Dancer, Ally McCoist, Damsel, Diawl Bach, Cormorant, Hare’s Ear, PTN and Buzzer. The Fishery is open seven days a week from 8.00am to 5.00pm.

Fishing Report – 10.02.19-16.02.19
It was a fantastic week for fishing at Swanswater this week. The rise in both air and water temperature provided excellent conditions. Water temperature rose from 4o to 6oC as the week progressed and as a result the fish became more active and were feeding well. At the start of the week the fish were fairly deep in the water, moving to just below the surface midweek before settling around 3 to 4 feet down by the weekend. Not only did th...e position of the fish in the water vary during the week but also their location in the ponds. On different days the best areas were the island, the dam, behind the island, the far bay and back to the island. Most fish were taken on then usual lures and nymphs fished on an intermediate line. The Fishery is open every day from 8.00am to 5.00pm
