Tabla Alba was set up by a group of people passionate about Indian Classical music and continues to be supported by people with love for the music.
We have a committed team of volunteers, many who play ICM themselves and are keen listeners. This makes sure we never compromise and present concerts in an environment suitable for the music.
Many of our concerts are Baithak style and the focus is always on the music.
We aim to present quality programmes to a discerning audience and we are proud to have a wonderful audience of listeners here in Scotland. We have built up a growing audience of people who come to listen and this is greatly appreciated by all the musicians who have performed with Tabla Alba. Some have been very surprised by the quality!
Tabla Alba programmes are held in places that support the music and create an intimate atmosphere. We are very conscious of sound quality and context. We work to bring you the highest quality in whatever we do!
We are based in Scotland, Alba being the ancient name of this beautiful country, but regularly visit India. Concerts are organised in India and ICM musicians from Scotland perform annually.
