Taizé In Stevenage Description

A time and a space for communion with God in silence and in song.

Join us every other Tuesday evening for this candle-lit service of prayer in the style of the Taizé community. Experience this open and meditative form of prayer, using the simple yet beautiful songs from Taizé, together with Bible readings and a period of silence.
The prayer starts at 9pm and lasts around 45 minutes.
You are welcome too to stay for a cup of tea afterwards.

High Street Methodist Church is at the southern (town centre) end of High Street in Stevenage Old Town – just a few minutes walk from Stevenage railway station and town centre. The church has a private car park, which is free to use: access is through the public car park around the back of the neighbouring Coach and Horses pub.

The Taizé Community is an ecumenical Christian monastic community in central France, which has developed a form of prayer and worship particularly geared towards participation by young adults from any background, who visit the community in their thousands from all over the world throughout the year, to engage in prayer and reflection with one another in an open and enriching atmosphere. See www. taize. fr for more info.

If you would be interested in contributing musically or to the planning of the prayer, please do be in touch.
