About Tamfest
Tamfest is a unique celebration of Halloween and Heritage as the spirits of Ayr's past come alive for a weekend of fun and frights; drawing on Robert Burns' infamous 18th century epic 'Tam o' Shanter' for a uniquely Ayrshire twist.
Tamfest Description
Tamfest is Ayr’s spooktacular Halloween celebration with a Tam o’ Shanter twist.
So join ghosts, ghouls and goblins in the town centre from Friday 27th to Sunday the 29th October 2017 for a frighteningly good day out.
It’s scary how many fun things there are to do. Watch this space for more information and updates.

We have a very unique exhibition that we are proudly collaborating on with renowned artist Craig Campbell who is also one of Scotland's leading portraiture & figurative artists. It will be taking place at Loudoun Hall, the oldest surviving domestic building in Ayr that was built in the early 1500's. The exhibition will be at Tamfest on Sunday October 27th from 12.00am-.5.00pm and is FREE to attend!
Ayrshire Soprano Alexandra Shrinivas and Daniel Victory a fantastic instrument...alist and composer will be performing all day at the exhibition. In the courtyard of Loudoun Hall we will have Tam o' Shanter inspired chalk floor art for families to join in and help create and also snacks to purchase in the courtyard!
Keep an eye out for some Tam inspired characters that will be roaming the grounds and inside Loudoun Hall and a few other surprises that we will leave for you to find out on the day!

The Deil’s Greatest Show!
The Deil loves to throw a Halloween party, he and his minions are hard at work preparing for Tamfest! October 27th is the perfect time to join in as they will show you how to learn circus skills including skull juggling, balance, spider plate spinning, balloon modelling, hula hoop, fire stick twirling (real fire is not used), dress up boxes for little Deil's and so much more!
Families can explore and play on their own or under the guidance of The Deil and his minions! (Please note these activities are suitable for ages 4-12)
This year at Tamfest we will be introducing Tam's Scavenger Hunt!
A self-led treasure hunt challenge for families and kids in which participants will be introduced to their mission by one of the Cutty Sark Witches and set off to solve puzzles and find hidden items before returning with a code they uncovered on their journey to open the secret chest and claim their prize!
The scavenger hunt will connect Tamfest to our sub theme "Well Done Cutty Sark!" (a section from the poemT...am O' Shanter ) and will take them through important locations in and around the High Street!

They have sold out prestigious venues throughout the UK such as the ABC, King Tuts, Cavern Club and performed at many high profile events and venues all over the world.
