Introducing Tartan Spa

Tartan Spa is a podiatrist-owned nail salon and beauty spa that delivers unrivalled nail care and beauty services. We combined a professional nail salon experience and expert medical knowledge that can be enjoyed in our elegant and relaxing, purpose-built Spa. This concept evolved after Doctor Bharti Rajput, expert podiatrist and founder of multi-award winning foot clinic Sole Body Soul, realised a need in the market for a beauty spa dedicated to the health, as well as the appearance, of the body, hands and feet. From our sterilization techniques to the environmentally friendly products we use, you can relax knowing your health is our first priority. For those living with diabetes, fungal nail infections, verrucae and other health conditions, Tartan Spa offers a safe haven.

How do we do it, you ask? What makes Tartan Spa clean is:

Sterilization
We ensure proper sterilization of your instruments using a medical standard autoclave. Each client treatment uses a medically sterilised instrument pack whilst our pedicure bowl liners, nail buffers and nail files are all disposable.

Cleaning Policy
Whirlpools can cause fungal and bacterial infections. Improper cleaning of wet areas and floors and improper washing of towels is the very REAL reason people get infected. Our pedicure foot spa bowls are lined prior to use with each client and are cleaned the right way after every client, and our towels are professionally removed from the premise and washed, steamed, and sterilized. Where possible eco-friendly towels which are disposable are used.

At the end of each day, the lights are turned off and the facility is scanned with a Wood’s Lamp (magnified black light). We go on a search and destroy mission to ensure that any sign of fungus has been removed.

Dedicated Medical Treatment Areas
Clients with fungal nail infections or other medical conditions are treated in a fully functional and aesthetic treatment area that is set apart from the cosmetic clientele. This enables our clients to never have to worry again about inadvertent exposure to affected surfaces.

Custom Built Pedicure Area
Our custom built pedicure area ensures your hygiene and comfort are our priority. We do not use plumbed in whirlpool systems (like the ones in New York Nail Salons! ) as research shows that they are the biggest 'trap' for fungal spores. Instead, we use a fully lined pedicure foot spa bowl which provides a similar comfort experience to that of a whirlpool chair.

No Toxic Chemicals
No harmful fumes. No Methyl Methacrylate or other bonding agents are used. We use eco-friendly cleaning products where possible.

Procedure and Protocol
Being clean whilst providing you with a relaxing experience is our mission and priority. Tools are always placed on clean towels. Implements that are unable to be sterilized are all single use and disposable. Tartan Spa has been designed without any absorbent surfaces and therefore we keep our cleanliness standards to a top priority.
