The new Tasso Stainless Exhaust for the LML Auto is a direct fit to the original OEM exhaust so just bolt on and go. Its a 2 part exhaust sold separately, downpipe TE205 and Muffler TE203. The standard downpipes are prone to rusting and snapping. The muffler sounds great, lovely deep tone but not harsh and loud. Snapped speedo cable ? So it's been a topic that comes up again and again. To start, it's not the cable as you think, well not entirely, the poor plastic sheath as with most rubber items on the LML split easy, this lets in water accelerating the problem. So what is it ? It's the support bracket plate, when the bracket is tightened its angle causes the cable to kink, this causes the inner to run against the outer inside the cable, this heats up and then 'snap'. It can also c...ause the plastic drive worm to chew up, often thought to be the problem. But every failure is where the inner snaps at the first 2". The support plate needs to squash the rubber grommet flat NOT at an angle. LML have tried to solve the problem by adding a new rubber boot at the support, but still the new brackets are at the wrong angle and as with all rubber on the lml doesn't last long !
So we have addressed this issue and now made a Stainless Steel Laser cut support bracket plate. Designed to fit flush and at the correct angle to the caliper holder. In the photos you'll see the original (yellow) bracket and also our Tasso stainless steel bracket. The fit and angle is much improved.
We also have some Italian made cables, the plastic sheath is better so we always advise to buy this over the low quality std cable. Get it right you shouldn't get the problem again.
