An all-day casual dining cafe with a passion for authentic Italian food, where you can sit in or take away, Taste of Italy is perfectly situated just 5 mins walk from the city centre, next to the Omni Centre, Edinburgh Playhouse, restaurants, bars and buzzing life of Edinburgh’s trendiest neighbourhood.
Taste of Italy is part of the award-winning Vittoria Group, an Edinburgh institution dating back to 1970 when Alberto Crolla Sr opened the first restaurant, Vittoria, on Leith Walk.
Now run by son Tony and his family, the Group has grown over the years and features award-winning eateries around the city including Vittoria on the Bridges & Leith Walk, La Favorita, the award-winning gourmet pizzeria and Divino Enoteca restaurant & wine bar.

At Taste of Italy we’ve created a menu that has something for everyone at any time of the day, including delicious Italian starters, pizzas, pastas, salads, risottos, gnocchi, paninis and more – as well as tasty options from the grill - cooked to your liking of course! Our extensive breakfast menu includes all the classics you would expect, as well as a great range of filled rolls and pastries and of course every variety of freshly ground coffee you could wish for!
Those in a hurry or just passing by will love our takeaway service – full cooked breakfasts /rolls, pizzas, pastas, paninis, soup, cakes, coffee, shakes and ice-creams are all available for quick and easy takeaway to ensure you keep on the move!
We don’t take reservations – simply pop in whenever the urge grabs you and pick up a coffee, sit down for a pizza or pasta, or indulge in a late-night dessert.
We’re open from 8. 30am until 11pm, Sunday to Thursday and until Midnight, Friday & Saturday.

Yesterday 4th July was even more enjoyable then previous times and the staff were fantastic, always friendly and attentive to all customers.

Turned up at 11pm after the Deacon Blue concert at the castle feeling very hungry. I was very happy to see the take away menu with Gluten free pasta choices so we decided to sit in.
Food was lovely and ended a very special night for us. We had just got engaged.

Only been once but will be back. More of a cafe atmosphere but nothing wrong with that. Good value for money and good tasting food and ice cream to die for. Was delighted with the size of portions, definitely worth a visit.
Never fails to exceed my expectations. Best food with a wonderful atmosphere. Totally spoiled my self with Minastrone soup Followed by spaghetti aglio. Disappointed to be too full for pudding. But maybe one day 😁 roll on my birthday next year I may have to start with cake x thank you Son you know how to make your mum happy ❤️
Lovely food im not usally a fan off thin base pizza but these are to die for. lovely staff they even make the effort to remember there customers.which makes a huge difference as it makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and want to go back.
If you want something to eat in Vibrant surroundings this is the place to come. Very helpful friendly staff and Pizzas were excellent. A great place to get the feeling of a Vibrant buzzing city.
I ordered from Taste of Italy brand new delivery service on Easter Monday and it was fabulous! Getting the hot food delivered to our door, on time and still piping hot was brilliant. The full Scottish breakfast was fit for a king, the burger was delicious, and the arancini di riso ball and panini were the best I've tasted. Fantastic food, great price and a fabulous delivery service. Very happy customers, and we will definitely be ordering again!

Very tasty food and wine...we have been a few times and each time enjoy the food.
Gorgeous food with amazing prices. Shame that the waitresses are very aggressive and crabbit..one small Italian looking girl just chucked our bank card across the table. Didn't get a smile once.
