After a tough two weeks on the farm we are very pleased to announce that kiln dried hardwood is now available again from today.
Unfortunately, softwood and kindling is still not available. We are continuing to seek solutions to this and will keep this page updated.
On behalf of all of us here at Tayside Forestry we would like to thank all our customers for their continued support and patience.

As you may have seen on Saturday a fire started in our top shed. We would like to first ensure you all that no one was hurt. However, this has had a very big impact on our firewood business and as for now we shall no longer be able to supply firewood. We are currently working towards a solution and still have hardwood net bags, kindling, coal and peat. We shall be offering a £1 discount on all of these products. We would like to thank you all for your continued support and we will keep you updated with the forthcomings.

Lots of our customers have asked us what process our firewood goes through from arriving on the lorry to being delivered to your door.
The video below shows you how the limbs are cut down to length, and then cut to an exact mesurment. In our case 12, 10, or 8 inch depending on your preference. The logs are then placed onto the drying floors for 120 hours, reducing the moisture content to <24% for standard, and <19% for premium. The logs are then tumbled to take out any small...er pieces of wood. Finally, the last process sees the logs bagged and delivered directly to your door within a week of ordering.

In the last few week, raw material prices have risen over 25%. Therefore, we have no alternative but to raise our firewood prices. There shall be an increase on our hardwood bags by £9. Softwood shall remain the same price for now as we still have stock that was bought in before the price increase. Our net bags of firewood we sell on site will also be increased by £1 per bag, and our kindling by 0.50p per bag. Below are the new prices that shall take effect from February the... 1st 2019.
Hardwood <19% moisture (0.8m3) 1 bag £109, 2 bags £208, 3 bags £297 & 4 bags £388 with 4 free kindling.
Hardwood <24% moisture (0.8m3) 1 bag £99, 2 bags £188, 3 bags £267 and 4 bags £348 with 4 free kindling.
Softwood <19% moisture (0.8m3) 1 bag £80, 2 bags £150, 3 bags £210 and 4 bags £260 with 4 free kindling.
Softwood <24% moisture(0.8m3) 1 bag £70, 2 bags £130, 3 bags £180 and 4 bags £220 with 4 free kindling.

Only 6 days left to grab your Christmas trees!! We shall be closing on Christmas Eve at 16:00 o’clock. The Pinecone Cafe shall then reopen on the 28th of December till the 31st of December when it shall close at 15:00 o’clock. If you wish to buy firewood in this period the office shall be open on Friday the 28th of December and Monday the 31st of December.
