Have just spoken with a customer who has had their garage door fitted for 4 years. He had an issue with some of the fixings coming loose. As its recommended to get the garage door serviced regularly/annually, I advised him of the service and repair charge of £84 including VAT. Our servicing covers checking all fixings are tight and secure and so this issue would be rectified for him during a garage door service. Unfortunately our customer feels he should NOT have to pay for a... service and within seconds started threatening us with putting bad things on Facebook. We are very upset that he has decided to take this stance. As with any mechanical item it is recommended you look after this with regular maintenance due to issues that might arise a couple of years down the line. As such, us and many other businesses charge a flat fee for servicing, this covers paying our experienced staff more than the living wage, and other costs our business incurs when we carry out a Garage Door Service. Its very upsetting that people expect businesses to pay taxes, proper staff wages and then not back it up by paying for the service they have requested. Being threatened because he knows us small businesses are scared of a bad Facebook post is an awful situation to be in and its very upsetting for us that one of our customers (who incidentally runs their own business) would resort to this to get FREE work done on their garage door. We haven't booked him in the diary as we feel its wrong to bully people into getting what you want, so now we will receive negative feedback.

We love doing garage conversions/2 into 1’s! Now having one large door it’s much easier to get the car in and out of the garage! Another conversion getting done in the next few weeks, definitely they way to go for a useable garage. Why leave your 2nd most expensive purchase out in the street when they can be tucked up safely in your garage?
