About Tayview Summer Courses

We run activity camps at Glenalmond College, Perthshire. These camps are for children aged 5-17 years and they take part in various sporting activities.

Tayview Summer Courses Description

Tayview summer courses have been run for over 10 years by Susan Whiteford and were first based in Perth, where the name Tayview originated. After a few years the decision was made to base the courses entirely at Glenalmond College, where the excellent facilities allowed the expansion of the activities that the courses could offer. The school cricket pavilion is the base of the camps and it is surrounded by the grass pitched giving a safe free-play area.
The sports coaches assisting with the running of the courses have been with Tayview for a number of years and specialists in their fields. Young helpers assist with the smooth running of the courses and assist the coaches with the younger groups.
The courses are non-residential and run from 9: 30am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Children aged 5-17 years are welcome on the camps and are divided into age appropriate groups. During the week they will take part in many different activities, including hockey, tennis, cricket, basketball, badminton, rock climbing for the older children and arts and crafts for the younger children.
A light lunch and biscuits at break are included in the cost of the course, with juice and water available all day. The light lunch consists of bread, ham, jams, spreads, cheese, cereal bars and fruit. The children choose and make up their own selection, with helpers available to help the younger children.
