Brilliant setting and a gorgeous building. The rooms were lovely and well kept. The food however was not very friendly for those with dietary requirements or vegetarians/vegans

If it were possible I would provide 0 stars for the spa at this hotel. I took a lot of time to carefully select a local spa that would provide a relaxing day for myself and my family. The spa can best be described as a 'cubby' tucked in the corner of the hotel. The swimming pool was over crowded as it is also part of a leisure club, the room dedicated to allow people to usually relax after a treatment was a coat closet with 3 chairs crammed in it. It is probably good to use if you are staying in the hotel itself as you can go to your room to relax, however as a day guest there is absolutely no room to just sit, relax or chat, the only seating they had was taken up by people waiting for treatments, and some treatments such as nails were being completed in the corridor, completely unhygienic, with people walking past. It was difficult to identify the staff as they were wearing a hoodie making them appear to be a guest. Our "tour" of the facilities consisted of being escorted to the door at the end of the corridor and being told "through this door and on the left is the changing rooms, you can go change now". Definitely not the "relaxing day" I was promised over the phone.

The one benefit was being able to get a full refund after leaving the spa half an hour after walking in.

Was there for a wedding, grounds were really well kept and beautiful. Even though it's close to the main road the drive way is long enough to get you out of vision and audio from the cars. The building itself is really nice with vegetation growing up the side. And at night it is well lite with an eery beauty about it. Inside it's not a modern looking hotel more of a rustic look to it that is calming and nice. Rooms were very clean although not always with the best view. Spacious bath and fancy shower. Plenty carparking space. Bar and restaurant available. Big hall for events and weddings etc that can be parted into to and has its own bar also.

We had our wedding booked for 2019. Paid the deposit, and now the wedding is not going ahead due to a major change in circumstance and won't even entertain a part refund. It's over two years away and they will easily make the money back when they resell the date. So upset and angry that I was practically laughed off the phone. Cannot find the contract for the life of me but to say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

Spa Facilities
*unprofessional/non-uniformed staff
*treatments taking place in reception
*over-crowded/cramped space with no where to sit
*no welcome feeling at all

Very disappointed with the spa. We had booked in hopes of spending half the day there. Once we arrived, we were greeted by a girl in a casual hoodie ( unsure if she was a member of staff or a guest). We never really got welcomed to the spa, just told to sit by reception and fill out some medical forms.

Once the forms were filled out we were then given our "tour" of the facilities, which included general points of direction to the pool and gym. We were then told to go down a corridor and get changed. There was no information about where to go for our treatments or even where the toilets were.

We found out later that there is actually no where to sit and relax/wait. You either go in the pool or sauna or just wait in the overcrowded changing room. No pool side seats or anywhere to just sit read a book. Staff suggested we could use the "relaxation" room - as my mother suffers anxiety in crowded spaces. This room was little more than a glorified cupboard with wooden chairs that directly faced a wall. I've seen university dorm rooms bigger than this. As a result my mother become very distressed.

We headed back to reception to ask if there was anywhere else, only to find out that someone was having manicure/pedicure treatment in the corridor of the reception/welcome area. It seemed very unprofessional and a total disregard for privacy. Considering we had arranged for our own manicure/pedicures for later in the day, we were not looking forward to this. We decided we were more stressed out in the spa than actually relaxed and decided to leave as it didn't seem worth it at all.

We literally spent no more than 10 minutes at the place before we had our clothes back on and we were out the door.

When originally looking online, we never saw photos of the spa - and now we know why. I wish I had gotten some photos to share but to be honest I just wanted to leave asap.

WILL NOT BE RETURNING AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!

Had a super time at a Christmas party night. Food was great for a function like this. Disco could have been a bit better. But it's what you make of it and we all had a ball

Attended for a wedding. The wedding it's self was great. Our room, for the price we paid wasn't great. The bathroom was disgusting there was hair everywhere, the toilet was dirty the bedding was stained. The staff were brilliant and helpful, the night itself was great but for the price I wasn't that impressed. Their was no option for customers opinions, no glasses or water in the room nor wad there a kettle or option for tea or coffee. You could have through room service but it would cost £8 to do so.
