About The 101 Project

The 101 Project

The 101 Project Description

The 101 Project in Dundee offers both 1 to 1 and group based support to parents across the city. The wellbeing of children is at the heart of our work and we know that happier parents mean happier children. We are aware that at times parents may require support to meet all of their children’s needs. Many parents can feel isolated, overwhelmed and undervalued. Our aim is to work with these parents to improve the wellbeing of the whole family.
We are a needs led service that can offer advice and information on a number of topics aimed at improving key areas: increasing confidence, improving relationships, reducing isolation, ensuring adequate housing, maximising finances, improving health and enhancing employability skills. For some parents this may be simply answering a query or signposting to a more relevant agency and for others this may mean a more in-depth working relationship. Our team has a variety of skills and knowledge and family support staff and employability support staff work together to offer a holistic support package to parents.
For 1 to 1 work we can meet with parents at a location that suits them, including their own home. We will work with parents to identify areas where support is required and agree a plan of action to address these. This can mean regular home visits, attending one of our informal groups and telephone /text support. We can also support parents to appointments with other agencies e. g. school, medical, etc.
We deliver a number of groups from The 101 Project and from other locations across Dundee. These include Busy Bee’s (parent & child), baby massage, sexual health, cooking, preparation for entering employment or further education and peer education. We work in partnership with other agencies to provide parents with a range of new skills and knowledge. Other groups can be developed in response to specific needs identified by parents.
