About The Abbotsford Hotel
The Abbotsford is a family run hotel established in 1966. With 14 en-suite bedrooms the hotel can accommodate up to a maximum of 27 residents. We are ideally situated for tourists and golfers alike with many local attractions and golf courses nearby.
The Abbotsford Hotel Description
The Hotel provides the ideal base for your visit to Ayr located in a quiet area just 10 minutes walk along from Ayr Town Centre. The welcoming staff create a warm and friendly atmosphere to ensure your stay is both enjoyable and relaxing.
The Hotel offers 14 comfortable, spacious bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, televisions and central heating.
The Copper Bar downstairs is enjoyed by the locals, who are just as sociable with guests as they are with the helpful staff. You'll be sure to make a few new friends when you come down to sample some of the specially selected Ales (as featured in CAMRA Real Ale Guide) or our wide range of Scotch Whisky.
The Bell's Wynd restaurant is a popular local eating spot offering both a traditional menu and a daily Chef's specials menu, using a wealth of fresh local produce sourced from around Ayrshire.
The Garden Terrace and spacious Beer Garden offer the perfect setting to unwind during Summer months, being both secluded and well appointed to the sun.
A wide range of activities are easily accessible from The Abbotsford Hotel making it an ideal spot for both tourists and sportsmen alike.

Whenever we're in Ayr we always try to pop in to the Abbotsford for a good pint and a relaxing catch up with friends. If you like golf then take a look in the games room, luckily for us it was Masters weekend so we sat watching the action from Augusta with a wee dram. Perfect.
We had our wedding reception at the Abbotsford Hotel a couple of years ago. We found the staff very helpful (& flexible) with Paul taking us through all the steps, making everything stress free. The food was great, to the extent that the buffet was demolished by our guests, who had hardly any room left for the cake. Some guests also stayed in the hotel and commented on how good the breakfast was. Thanks again Paul (sorry it has taken so long), Iain and Sarah
Top hotel, staff are very friendly and it is excellently run by Paul Hunter! Would recommend anyone visiting Ayr to stay in this beautiful hotel or atleast visit!
Powercleanscotland has just finished the clean and restoration of the beer gardens at the hotel.. a must visit for spring and summer ��
Olde worlde hostelry oozing with character. Couldn't have been more helpful whilst arranging our golf club's annual mixed competition and to crown it all, the food is excellent too.
LOVELY atmosphere and steak pie is the best in Ayr
I have visited the Abbotsford many times , the food is excellent , as is the service with friendly approachable staff in a fantastic setting , I reccomend to all .
I have never been able to get into the scottish beer so was good to find this place via camra good beer guide whilst stopping in ayr which served a good pint of thwaites and had a nice bar with character
Hidden gem in Ayr. Hands down the best steak pie around!
Had a meal here on 23 April. Exceptional! Thoroughly enjoyed it all. Will definitely be back the next time we’re visiting Ayr. �

Great weekend as always, delicious food. Staff could not do enough to make our stay perfect, (spilled sauce on my top and were offered to have it cleaned and returned prompt; not many places would care to do that). Roll on nxt years stay. ☺
Great food, great beer, great staff, especially outside area in the lovely sunshine. Highly recommend the burgers.
Entertaining evening at a fundraiser for The Belleisle conservatory and as usual we had s great time. This hotel is full of character and is really one of the best in Ayr. Great for all kind of functions! Staff, food and ambiance ... brilliant 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Another great meal here last night for my husband's birthday. We had the full 3 courses. Loved the chicken, apple and brie salad starter, followed by grilled salmon with bacon and pine nuts, finished off with blairgowrie strawberries and raspberries. Good value and good portion sizes. I was there with my Burns Club(The Barrmill Jolly Beggars) with some of our friends from the Dalry Braw Lads Burns Club.
A fabulous stay ...very comfortable, excellent food, and great service....Will be returning here...excellent place...highly recommend.
