The Alman Dramatic Club Description

The Alman Dramatic Club dates back to 1939 when a number of Alloa and Clackmannan enthusiasts responded to the exhortation that communities should work together to provide their own entertainment.

Since then the club has performed more than 140 full-length plays. These are usually held in its own unique venue, The Coach House Theatre, three times a year (November, March and June).

The former Coach House of Inglewood in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, was converted into a 63-seated theatre in 1957.

We still have some tickets left for the final week of our summer production.
"Riley's Chance" is set in the remote community of Ballinbeg in Ireland. Opportunities for the people of this quiet backwater on the edge of Europe are few and far between so when a local girl reports supernatural goings-on in the ladies lavatory, the town goes “completely savage”. The old parish priest finds himself “battling against the forces of darkness” principally... vandalism, homosexuality and civic corruption. The moral certainties of the church are further threatened when two strangers arrive in the town and start looking for“alternative facts” only to discover an inconvenient truth. The devil may be in the detail but by keeping an eye on the big picture everybody ends up getting what they want, if not what they deserve.
In "The Match", footy may never be the same again for fanatical Harry and Darren as they come to terms with the new laws of the game of life. This play, a timely contemporary farce, splits the new from the old in a fast moving play about passions, priorities and what really matters in life. Behind the acid-filled repostes and clear foul play lies a challenge to stop putting up with the nonsense dished out by “the lads” as equality hits the net and scores a resounding victory. Behind the facade of a football match this short, one-act production explodes into an expose of sexual politics which will hopefully make you laugh and think in equal measure.
Tickets cost £11 and are available from www.thealman.com
Performance Dates Remaining - Wed 20th - Sat 23rd June at 7:30pm

The Primary 6 class from St Serf's Primary School visited the Coach House Theatre earlier this week and had a fantastic time. They were able to tour a working theatre, see the sets being built for the next production and spend a lot of time on stage developing their performance skills.
