We were in over the very busy festive period and the food was absolutely brilliant. Beautifully presented and delicious. Fab drinks selection and very reasonable pricing. Great atmosphere and very good banter from the waiting staff. Thanks!!

Visited last night for the first time and was very impressed with the waiting staff. Food was good and drinks were always filled. The staff went out of their way to make it a pleasant evening. Would definitely recommend.

Top restaurant & bar basement is great for local DJs and bands to play nights plus upstairs for full functions very friendly & accommodating staff couldn’t ask for much more located in the heart of Ayr town centre very well recommended!!

They took brilliant care of us .... not at all phased when I phoned to book and explained that my son is autistic.... took great care in seating us !!!! The food and cocktails were fabulous ���

The staff are fabulous, great food, delicious cocktails and 90 gins.... What's not to love! Decor is the classy side of quirky, it's our favourite destination for food and drinks in Ayr

Staff great and every nice to come n chat even when busy. Great service. Food was spot on. Garlic chilli chicken starter was full of flavour and was spot on. The chicken & haggis a great dish and also full of flavour. With amazing sauce that complimented the food to a tee. Only down side i would say is that the garlic bread was over done. But definitely a fantastic experience. Complements to chefs and front of house staff. Great choice to have a birthday dinner with friends and will be back. Big thanks to Toby and the rest of front of house staff.

Staff friendly, atmosphere nice an relexed, even though breakfast finished at 12, two hours later we were allowed to order breakfast rolls, would recommend

Popped into here yesterday to see if they did Gluten Free meals. Was met by a lovely guy who stated 'We do' took us to our table and was not only given a smashing GF Menu but was also advised that I could choose 2 courses for £10 the same as their Special Deal Menu. Well done the Newmarket. You are now in all my Ceoliac FB pages for 'recommendations for Ceoliac sufferers and for Ceoliacs eating out. Loved my Chicken Pate and the Chutney was gorgeous. Will certainly be back again.. x

My husband and I had our wedding meal and reception here in August 2017. We booked with The Newmarket 7 weeks before our big day and they were excellent from start to finish. Antonia was great and nothing was too much trouble. On the day itself everything went smoothly, the food and service was fantastic. The whole team were a really friendly bunch and they all did a great job to help make our day special. Thanks guys �

Last weekend we celebrated my birthday in the Newmarket with a cocktail masterclass. I am so sure we took up more of their time than planned- but the staff were fantastic and attentive, alongside yummy cocktails and snacks. Such a great night had by all! Thank you �x

I cannot recommend the venue or the staff highly enough. My daughter had her birthday party in the downstairs cellar, and it was absolutely perfect for her and a large crowd of friends. The service was brilliant, the buffet was outstanding, the drinks flowed, and everyone had a great time. Thanks to all the staff for their efforts....much appreciated.

Great relaxed atmosphere. Staff very efficient. Prices are very good.French martini was delicious and red wine also lovely. Food really nice and bread and olives are fantastic. Definitely our new favourite place.

Booked the Newmarket for my Dad's 70th. Food was amazing, staff helpful & friendly, service great and reasonably priced. After our meal we done the gin tasting, Ryan made our afternoon guiding us through our gins. Thank you Newmarket.

Been in for the cocktail making class and had a fantastic day/night-ended up booking to celebrate a leaving work night. Food and drink was spot on but it's the staff that make the experience all the more! Would definitely recommend!

A group of us came in for coffee one Sunday & ended up getting starters & sides to share between us, both food & coffee were great, large portions & best macaroni I've ever had :)

We enjoyed a two course lunch, and had our grandchild with us, she had the kids menu which had a great choice, but a wouldn't say they were child friendly at all. Will go back but not with our grandchild who was very well behaved.

The food was lovely the service good wee were there 2/1/18 a little confusion over the cocktails but our server soon rectified it and wee left happy

I like the Newmarket .staff very polite.attentive.had choice of the 2 menus.

Not long to wait for service since we sat down at our table.cocktails and drinks great..our meals that we all picked were delicious .from .starters.to main meals.

Even our champagne cocktails were great..

Ate from the 2 course for £10 menu , had the chicken and haggis for main then stick toffee pudding, the main course was not a good size portion but pudding was plentiful, very friendly staff....

We were very disappointed. The service was very slow, we had at least 30 minute gap between starters and mains. Mussels were cold and off, burgers were ok, fish and chips ok and chicken stroganoff Luke warm. It was as if the food had been sitting ready for ages. The crumble was a tart and cold. It was obvious that there was not enough staff on, as bar was cluttered with dirty glasses. We did get a round of drinks free and mussels taken of bill, but as this was a lunch for our nephew going back to Australia, very disappointing.

Staff are wonderful.I ordered a chicken burger & found a chicken bone in my burger! I did say to the staff & she took it away & told me it wasn't a bone but a bit of over cooked rolled up skin! It most certainly was a bone.She did not charge me for my meal but it meant my friend had her meal & I was left without a meal.Would go back for the cocktails but not the food.

Hubby's birthday treat, decided to try new restaurant..... Attentive staff & quiet relaxed vibe when we arrived 4.45ish on a Saturday with two kids in tow however my daughter's starter... Prawn cocktail was not very good at all � sadly.... & my king prawn with mango salad didn't have any mango??? � My son had the kids pizza & chips which he devoured � our main meals were great. Im a big pudding fan but twice two different waiters had to break the news to me about not having my pudding choice available..... � but the sticky toffee pudding afterall was brilliant � that was the third time though they didn't have an item available?! OK for couples perhaps but not family oriented after 4pm

Food was nice, had to ask after 30 minute wait for dessert menu. Over charged on drinks, the member of staff was nice and fixed it for us though.

Wouldn't recommend the afternoon tea. It was a half hearted attempt of uninspiring white bread sandwiches and shop bought cakes. The "deal" was more expensive than if we had bought the prosecco separately. Either do it properly or remove it from your Menu.

Went a few weeks ago with a friend, staff were friendly but the food we ordered was tasteless and bland. Quite disappointing after all the hype about this restaurant

Wasn't to impressed waited to long for food ordered roast beef dinner got frying steak which was tough. Plus side nice decor and friendly waiting staff and sticky toffee pudding was nice

Went in and the place was not busy. Sat at a table but never received service. Waited more than 30 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. We were given menus when we came in and told they would come take our order in a minute. Wait staff looked at us at our table and decided not to serve us. After 35 minutes we got up and left.

We went in to the Newmarket the Sunday night the Christmas lights were switched on for a drink the barman that served us was very rude and the three drinks that we wanted they had none left,there were glasses everywhere and the place wasn’t that busy total shambles I won’t be back!!!

I am totally disgusted by the service tonight. Supported this establishment since it opened, every weekend, had 2 eighteenth in it but treated like shit tonight. Never again.
