The Beach House

Nice place. Good view and location. Enjoyed coffee, tea and cakes. Have to sit outside if you have a dog.

Lovely poached egg & salmon breakfast sat in the sun. Not sure that happens too much here. Fab fresh orange juice and decent coffee. Well worth a visit.

Great food & drink, desserts with tasty allergen free options. always busy - so get there early at lunch time, child friendly, super beach views.
Food is top notch, but some dishes can be a little small for the price - but its all home made breads and organic etc. so your money is well spent

The beach house is a firm family favourite for delicious, home made, seasonal food and drink. Sara and her team are always friendly and keen to please and the menu is a delight, from soups and light meals to full on Sunday brunch. It's often busy, but you can eat outside or grab a picnic for the beach and they even do catering (should you want to bring their treats home with you). Go visit!

Nice place with fresh decor and view of the sea. Slightly limited menu and no hot cooked food . Had club sandwich, fresh granary bread, maybe a bit too crusty. Bacon was very well done a and the chicken was cold. Came with a cold side salad And root crisps.

Overall not bad but will try somewhere else next time in portobello.

Has been extended and so is now open for evening meals. Apple, toffee & cinnamon cake was baked on the premises and was truly scrumptious, all washed down with a very nice cup of tea. Would definitely recommend a visit.

What a great beach front location. The food is fine but it's really the position on the sea front that sets this café apart. Wonderful.

The food was tasty, and we couldn't fault it even though a tiny bit pricey, HOWEVER, the service was slow, and we had to keep calling/asking the waitresses for service/attention and even rude at times. I was stood trying to decide on a cake when one of the waiters came in between and dumped a basket of cutlery on the table and started unpacking it putting it into the relevant place. Then I asked for a glass of water which never came so I asked another girl and finally it arrived. Lastly another waitress came and abruptly asked me to move out the way so she could get to a drawer where the folded napkins were kept. No thank you or anything. The table next to us ordered their drinks and cake before us yet waited till we were finished our cakes before theirs even arrived!
