We are hard at work preparing this weekend's menu for all our lovely customers! :) Feast your eyes on one of our favourites; Pan Seared Seabream Maithili with roasted red pepper sauce, sour cream, lemon crushed potatoes and salsa verde. Simply marvellous! We’ve chosen the Albente Falanghina to go with this dish; from the volcanic vineyards surrounding the infamous Vesuvius, it is fresh, floral and perfectly mineral! just been in for a friend's wedding lunch wasn't booked in advance just 7 ppl was accommodated well and even brought a free bottle of bubbles for the table food was amazing and service was fantastic will definitely be back!!

Yesterday was my first visit and I was really impressed. Lovely comfortable surroundings lovely smiling staff that were really attentive making sure we had all we needed. Food was really tasty and well presented. Prices were really good. Toilets were spotless. I will definitely be back soon. Thank you.

Went on Wed for Steak Night with the family 7 in total and it was fabulous. My fillet steak meal was perfect as was everyone’s meal. The kids meal is the best value of anywhere that we’ve been. Looking forward to returning�

We held my husbands 40th party in the function suite, staff were great, venue is lovely and food was amazing. They supplied the DJ who was great playing varied music and interacting with people on the dance floor, great night and would highly recommend using the venue for any celebrations

We had our Daughter's Christening reception here on 4th Feb 2018. Everything was absolutely perfect. Sarah and the team did everything we asked for and more. Sarah extremely helpful and paid particular attention to detail which I love. The function room staff on the day were fantastic. Couldn't of asked for anything better. Function suite was beautiful and the food was amazing. Everyone commenting on lovely prossecco and beautiful food. All our guests were extremely impressed with the whole package. We had a party here last night for my freinds hen leeanne was our bar staff upstairs and she was amazing she made the night from start to finish thank you leeanne

We are regular visitors and the food is always excellent however last night we did the Wed night Steak Night and it was superb. £14.95 for a steak with 2 sides which resembled and tasted like something you would get charged £30 for in the City. I actually compare it to The Butchershop quality. Well done Boarding House.

This was my 1st visit to the Boarding house

We were celebrating a special birthday & could not thank staff enough for there all round service.

Food was great & plenty to choose from, prices very good also. Venue is lovely. It may have been 1st visit but not my last so looking forward to next meal out.

Thank you to all the fantastic staff (especially Sharon, Rory and Steve the DJ) for making my 30th Birthday party absolutely perfect.



I was very impressed with everything, and will definitely recommend the Boarding House to anyone hosting a party!

Regular customers in the restaurant and for coffee, always very happy. Also booked last month for my husbands 30th and had a really great night, DJ and venue hire upstairs are excellent.

I was here last night with my mum and dad for my birthday, the meal we had was excellent couldn't fault it, staff were very friendly and were always asking if everything was all right or if we wanted any top ups in drinks, will definitely be back here for sure!!

I have booked two parties up stairs.. buffet is amazing and DJ is fantastic.. staff can’t do enough for you .. .. it’s now my favourite place xx

I actually can’t comment on the dining as I have only been to events ( BRC) in the upstairs . That is the perfect place to see a band , personal, intimate and because of this very sociable with everyone at the tables .

Downstairs, restaurant was busy and looked very nice.

The food did smell inviting. Staff friendly .

We would certainly use this before an event we were attending .

Had a lovely dinner tonight, had the parents with us, their first time at the Boarding house, and they can't wait to go back. Food was lovely and service was excellent. Will definetly be back soon.

Had dinner in the ale house because we had our dog with us. It was really nice, food was good, staff friendly. Only down side being asked to pay for my meal before I ate it.

Food and staff are excellent, we are regular customers. The only issue is that on the kids menu they have no options for desert. I’ve mentioned this before in feedback but you need to pay full price. This needs to be added I feel or other parents may be put off.
