Boyd's big bus is running again this weekend, along side our weekend entertainment. Tonight from 9pm we have our pub quiz, and Saturday from 9pm live music. **BURGER OF THE WEEK**
BBQ pulled pork with Monterey Jack cheese on top of our signature beef burger.
Served with coleslaw and extra BBQ sauce. Messy but worth it 😋

Sunday roast preparations from this morning!
Roast leg of lamp, studded with anchovies, rosemary and garlic. Served with minded cabbage and peas, buttered carrots, potatoes and a lamb gravy!
Served all day until it’s gone!

Excellent mixed tapas type plate for lunch and a good looking full menu.

We had a lovely meal to celebrate our daughters Birthday. Food was amazing. Staff friendly and attentive. We ate in the bar area which I have to say was lovely. Great atmosphere. Cosy and welcoming. We will definitely be back! Would highly recommend.

Visited for the first time today and had just THE BEST burger I can remember! Absolutely amazed at what a feast it was. I can't recommend this place enough - relatively new, lovely decor, airy and light, and friendly staff. I wanted to eat all the cakes as they looked fabulous, but the meal was so filling, so I guess we'll have to return for coffee and cake very soon. Well done the chef and the management!

The old swan pub used to be a stable local pub serving the people of the shaws. My dad drank there many times. The decor is of a lovely relaxed contemporary scottish feel with exposed original stonework. The food was excellent and the service was good. This establishment is exactly what was needed in this farflung end of shawlands. You can now class me as a regular!

Second time there and so hoping it thrives as our local. We usually eat and drink in strathbungo but now love Boyd Roderick. £15 sharing stuff is great (especially, as vegetarian, arancini). Son had meat small plates and said it was delicious.

But it's the atmosphere I love: staff are special - friendly without ever being intrusive. Some great chats. I'd go back just for that!

I'm a bit concerned it's at the faraway end of the southside drag but I'd thoroughly recommend the journey. Brilliant place.

Hubby's old haunt when it was The Swan, so been a while, and today was the day for a visit, and wow the food menu is amazing, and dog friendly too. Staff were lovley and food tasted as good as it looks, definately plan to visit more often

Had my daughter's babyshower here food was delicious staff very attentive could not fault it we all had an amazing day / night i would highly recommend this place for food drinks and a venue for a get together or party

Had an amazing evening at The Boyd Roderick pub. The food & service were superb in every way. Great quality, cooked with care, skill and presented beautifully. I was especially impressed by house Gravadlax, Chargrilled Ribeye and the Espresso Martini. Lovely to see such an all round friendly pub, dog friendly too! Thank you - would highly recommend

Great restaurant, lovely food, amazing staff, couldn’t think of a better place to visit in the shawlands- had such a good experience, lovely friendly atmosphere, staff have a laugh with you, not taken too seriously. Highly recommend.

Great beers and an outstanding choice of gins. Ok so it might be a few pence dearer than another bar in the middle of Pollokshaws, but it's worth it. Very knowledgable staff and lovely surroundings. Vast improvement on what was there before.

Fabulous birthday lunch here today for my Dad. Staff very kind and helpful and menu was fabulous. Couldn't have asked for a better family outing. Hope to book my 50th here in a few months time. Thankyou to all the staff and i wish you every success in your business here.

12 of us for a family gathering on a Saturday evening warm welcome from all the staff nothing was a bother to anyone! We weren't rushed and kept informed of how long our orders would be which allowed catch up time for our Canadian family with everyone and all our food arrived at once � All very positive feedback regarding our meals with return visit already booked.

Now been a few times as this is very local. We popped in & got a bite to eat a couple of nights ago. Had the Pick 'n' Mix - 5 dishes which in the main was very good albeit the fish goujons were a bit overdone. Really like the atmosphere but to give it 5 stars could you please improve your choice of desserts. It's very limited and not great. If you could stock pear cider too that would good too. Otherwise delighted to see the old place looking great and lively too. Well done.

Food was good (actually portions were a bit big) no room for desert .� Would have been a 5* if the toilets were up to scratch.(wobbly seat and HUGE gap at the bottom of cubicles) reminded me of school sports grounds loo.� also need to be checked and cleaned more often.

Went for dinner and I selected the hake-only to be told they no longer sell it! Take it off the menu please??!! Then selected the sea bream which was lovely. However there was a terrible draught coming from

behind my seat (between the seat and the seat back) and I had to put my coat behind me to stop it. We moved on to the bar area after the meal and there were more draught no matter where we sat (coming in the window frames and under the door). We were going to have another drink but ended up going home to warm up. Not the best first visit unfortunately!!�

Quick message to the staff! This is a great place with lots of potential! But when tables are full of glasses, people are waiting for menus and queuing at the bar.... when one poor lassie is serving and the manager is simply chatting away to pals and writing on a chalkboard! Junior staff in this place are the best btw. Need to get customer service right if ye want to survive!

On the 12th November you advertised your Christmas Menu available for lunch or dinner with a choice of 2 or 3 courses. This was advertised from 1st December to the 24th December. As soon as this was advertised I booked for Christmas lunch for myself, my partner and my two kids. As my birthday is on Christmas day I usually celebrate my birthday on Christmas Eve and chose the Boyd Roderick as I live locally and was impressed by the standard of food on my previous visits.



On arrival, myself and family were treated with indifference and were gestured over to a table. We sat for a while whilst no-one approached us. After a while I spoke to the Bar Manager about the ‘festive menu’ that was displayed on the tables as opposed to the 3 course Christmas Menu I had booked for. The ‘festive menu’ was a bar menu consisting of burger and skinny fries, fish and chips, stovies etc. I was spoken to like an imbecile by the Bar Manager who explained that the Christmas menu had never been available for Christmas Eve and that the menu had finished a few days ago due to a ‘lack of orders’. No apology was offered. I then asked for kids menu’s (which we hadn’t been offered) and was told by the Bar Manager that “his glamourous assistant would bring those over to us”. Utterly patronising and sexist language.



If we had been nearer the centre of Shawlands we would have left at this point however our kids were hungry and we decided to stay and as a result ordered a burger from the menu for my birthday meal. The only person who offered an apology to us and acknowledged the way we had been spoken to was the lovely waitress with the Christmas jumper on who understood that we were disappointed and made an effort to attend to us and engage with the kids. To add insult to injury our food didn’t arrive until 3:10pm (we arrived at 2pm). We gave a tip to that waitress as she was the only person that made any effort with us today. We spent £50 and left the restaurant today without an acknowledgement. The attitude and demeanour of the Bar Manager was utterly disgraceful. The Bar Manager was more attentive to the regular drinkers sitting at the bar, who also allowed their dog to roam freely around the tables of the restaurant. If the Christmas menu had been cancelled due to a ‘lack of orders’, why weren’t people who had placed a booking contacted prior to their visit to inform them?

If I had wanted a burger on my birthday I would have went to McDonalds.



On the whole, a thoroughly depressing birthday lunch. I live locally and have championed your restaurant to my friends, family and work colleagues. I will be sharing this awful experience with them and won’t return. You have lost my family and friends as future customers.
