As an IDD Therapy Disc Clinic,we specialise in non-surgical treatment for disc conditions. A herniated disc is a common condition which can affect people at different stages in thier life. But whilst the headline may be "herniated disc" it is important to appreciate that the disc issue is only one component of a broader problem, which can include muscle weakness, joint stiffness and postural issues amongst other factors.
For people with a "herniated disc" our goal is to identify and address these other components along with the disc herniation which is key to resolving pain and getting people back to every day activity. If you know someone with a herniated or ‘slipped’ disc, we’re here to help and will happily answer any questions on the subject. Thank you

Guys, we’re being asked questions about Cold Laser Therapy, what is it & why use Cold laser, or photobiomodulation? Well we use it here to reduce pain, improve local circulation, accelerate healing and decrease inflammation and swelling. It can be used to treat muscle/ ligament strains, tendonitis, bursitis, tennis elbow, neck pain and low back pain as well as knee pain & facial neuralgia etc. The body absorbs laser light & damaged cells respond with a physiological reaction which promotes regeneration, the procedure is painless & non-invasive. It's one of the most researched therapeutic modalities used, boasting over 700 published research papers. It's considered a safe & effective treatment. Just ask our team whether Cold Laser therapy might help you. Kind Regards, James Sneddon. Registered Osteopath

Scarily sore sciatic pain patient in today! Even after 1st session of IDD feeling some slight relief. This doesn't happen to everyone, as it's more of a drip..drip.. effect therapy but, we could all see the change in this persons face, going from scrunched up & grimacing, to WHEW...and a tiny little smile.😏 Still a bit to go however this is a great start and we're delighted they want to come back for more of the same. Happy Days! 😁

So…we look up and are captivated by the two bearded gentlemen in front of us..why? well we thought two members of ZZ TOP had arrived (yeah!!) obviously this was Not the case!😂 However, we 're introduced to Jimmy Britton and Mark Weir. Jimmy, hails from North Carolina was in Glasgow for “The Braw Beard Competition” arriving with an extremely sore neck and an “extremely” long beard 😲 Enter, the lesser bearded species of James Sneddon and Co,who delivered Osteo with associated ID...D Therapy. After 3 days treatment we asked Jimmy for a wee quote before he left..so here it is.. “I travelled all the way to Glasgow from America for the “Braw Beard Competition” arriving at the Clinic with intense neck pain,James Sneddon was able to relieve my pain and my relief was immense, without his amazing care I could never have finished the competition, because of him I was proudly placed third...and was no longer in any pain. Thank all of you so very much, yours,Jimmy Britton–North Carolina.USA” In our pic Jimmy is with his friend Mark Weir from Irvine, who came 2nd in his competition. Alongside is James Sneddon Osteopath, Scott Bonner- Physiotherapist and Riccardo Segato Physio intern. We’d like to congratulate Jimmy and Mark on their bearded success 🧔

On a light hearted moment we thought you'd all like to share in wishing Gordon stevenson our Sport & Remedial Massage therapist a very happy belated birthday (at the weekend). We're not saying what age he is as it's a sensitive subject. However the cake has 7 candles on it...LOL Cake was made and delivered by Karen our lovely Clinical Assistant. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GORDON. x

It's a Monday morning....and one of our first patients in at 7.30am has been offered 'Shockwave Therapy' to treat his sore back, he asked if it entailed electrodes and delivering electric shocks to him - in which case he said he wasn't too keen and he'd pass! Ehm ...we totally don't blame him...! However, to clarify what Shockwave therapy entails we’ll demonstrate with a short video staring James Sneddon our Osteopath & Principal with Riccardo Segato our Physiotherapy intern - who having a sore back kindly consented to shockwave treatment. Please note:This is a go to treatment for Frozen shoulder, Tennis elbow, Plantar Fasciitis and many more painful conditions. Please call & chat if you have questions: 01413394340 😀🦹‍♂️

Patients have been asking us just exactly what IDD stands for, so here it is: Intervertebral Differential Dynamics. (it's beyond us why, it's such a complicated name, that means nothing to the layperson !) Anyway, IDD is a non-surgical decompression treatment. Meaning it takes pressure off squashed discs in your spine very gently restoring mobility. We use it here to treat sciatica, neck and low back pain, and those injuries commonly known as “slipped discs” We are constan...tly trying to get our message out into the ether, as we've literally treated thousands of happy patients with the majority gaining great benefits from use of this relatively unknown therapy ( no, not always 100% successful...but we never give up, we can still offer hope by referrals for MRI Scans, Medical consultations or other great Therapies) If your interested in IDD therapy get in touch we are here to help if you allow us. And yet another FMS footballer 😄 An FMS Certified trainer is the physical therapist for the MLS' Philadelphia Union. He wrote about the importance of using the FMS and SFMA to build more appropriate rehab and training programs for soccer players:

Another FMS "fan" 👍The FMS is broadly used in soccer, from the MLS to the EPL. Popular teams like LA Galaxy, Liverpool FC, and Bayan Munich began their season the same way: Soccer is a high demand activity requiring an equally demanding rehabilitation. A lot of time is spent on one foot, running, and jumping. These activities can be and need to be practiced in therapy prior to returning to sports order to make sure they are not impaired. It is imperative that you seek a therapist that is going to provide careful attention to such details when you are recovering from an injury. We have two FMS qualified therapists at The Buckingham Clinic.

Functional Movement Based insights for more durable football players. The next few extracts are links related specifically to football players and how they have been using this method to expand their range of movement and avoid injuries. We have two trained therapists in this amazing method at The Buckingham Clinic. FMS screening (with LA Galaxy star striker Zlatan Ibrahimović performs the Deep Squat and ASLR). 😀
