The Carpenters Arms has been asked to help with this extremely worthy Charity Gig in aid of Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre this Friday evening. Please do come along and support the guys from NCS (National Citizens Service) Team 3 as they co-host with us. There will be: 4 acts playing live music: Josh Aitken (Solo artist playing covers & original material)... Yoshimi (Duo) Curtis Lauren Nichols A pub quiz Raffle with prizes including: Paint-balling for up to 10 people Meals at local Restaurants Signed Glasgow Rangers Photo Lots of Wine...... MANY MANY MORE!!! We will also be donating 50% of the sale price of all Pizzas sold to the charity, so make sure you order up!!! The more you eat the more is donated..... The full sales price from all desserts provided by the NCS group will also be donated. Please like and share this post to ensure its a great night with loads raised!

This place is just Fab !! the food and beer is great and full of good people !

The best fish and chips ever. And most impressive tartare sauce!! Always really friendly.

Stayed here for a night and was treated superbly. A little short staffed maybe but that didn't detract from the welcome and service.

Came back from Cambridge Beer Festival to a nice welcome from barmaid Claire who entertained us and served us excellent real ale.

We normally stay at a Premier Inn but don't receive the level of warmth we got here

Lovely people now own this place, well worth a visit

Lovely atmosphere and great service and excellent food - we will be back and recommend whole heartedly

We reserved two rooms at this location on the date of July 29th to July 30th, we paid £270 full in cash upon arrival as there was no credit/debit machine working. The Carpenter's Arms should not be open as an inn, bottom line. So many health and safety violations and worthy of being investigated. The simple complaints are no working house phone and no wifi (as advertised). No working card machine, so had to pay cash, despite them having my card info via Booking(dot)com. Tired, disgruntled staff but it gets much worse.



Rooms were a nightmare. Grossly unwashed, unclean, sheets stained with blood, semen, sweat etc. Roof outside the bathroom window was littered with cigarette butts. The lack of light in the bathroom was "fixed" by having a clamped on work lamp run into the bathroom via an extension cord not plugged into a GFCI outlet or of suitable standards to be exposed to water. Will provide photos to show evidence of this in the comments. The live music is the LEAST of this places problems. There is blatant misrepresentation as an "family-run, airy, gastropub" "offering rooms with crisp, fresh linens" that they advertise themselves to be on their own website and social media.



The family in the accommodation next to some of our party were separated from their young child as their room was not able to fit them and had to sleep with the room doors open to ensure the child's safety. Pretty sure that's not reasonable or legal.



We did not want to stay for the "breakfast" finally got ahold of someone as our car had been blocked in and we were unable to leave as we wished. Spoke to Mike the owner of The Carpenters Arms as reasonably and polite as I could and let him know the issues. He was apologetic and offered a refund to my credit card on July 30th as the cash was already deposited in the nightsafe. No refund seen yet, August 8th.



I will be following up and escalating as needed.
