My beloved, Douglas and I were visiting Scotland for the first time, from the U.S. While walking the streets of Kirkcudbright we asked a gentlemen that was walking behind us if he knew if this restaurant was a good place to eat. He responded that he would not be the one to ask since he was the owner and chef. The restaurant was closed at the time, he suggested we head to the pub for a drink and he would open the restaurant at 5:30 just for us if we wanted to come back. Sounded great to us and was it ever!!! We each had a fabulous meal with ambiance to match! Not to mention the chef/owner did it all himself including serving us some fabulous wine.
The food was reasonable and it was the best dinner we had during our 10 day adventure in Scotland! Our sincere thanks to you chef! Douglas and Pamela

Excellent food and great staff. Chef was very welcoming and catered for our Coeliac daughter - although he had run out of gf puddings she was happy with the ice cream.
I ate thre when I was 5 it was fantastic
