This white made it as our December Wine because of its delightfully creamy and striking persistence. Perfect to match our Scottish Mussels dish.

Wife and I had home cooked breaded haggis and soup (sweet potato, coconut, chilli) for starters followed by fish n chips and chicken with haggis... doesn't sound amazing... until u try it... absolutely amazing... the haddock had the thinnest and tastiest batter I've ever had and the haggis had such a great mix of spices... this Scottish hideaway is highly recommended and their house red is pretty good too!

We end up coming back every time we visit. Great food, great atmosphere perfect service! Thank you.

This is a lovely restaurant in the heart of the old town. The food is delicious and beautifully cooked. The staff are very friendly and efficient. My only slight negative is that a slightly more extensive menu or some daily specials would encourage one to go back for a second visit quite quickly.

This is a lovely little restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Oh and the food is out of this world! Definitely worth a visit.

Great food, lovely atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. Chef even changed the starter to help with my dietary needs and everything was extremely well cooked and presented. It would be easy to walk past this one as the entrance is deceiving- but definitely worth a visit. ��

Best meal we've had in Scotland.

Goat cheese appetizer over fresh herbed toast with beet root sides was an excellent starter.

Venison very tasty and excellently prepared. Chicken in barley & leeks was wonderful. Even the burger with cheddar and a bespoke aioli was great.

Very good wine list, knowledgeable about Whiskey. Châteauneuf-du-Pape was good and reasonably priced; nice vintage.

And the service was prompt, friendly and helpful.

Beautiful meal & great service. Definitely recommend the Cellar Door for both a nice little much & a lovely evening meal.

Beautiful amazingly cooked food, lovely staff and a lovely quaint restaurant with gorgeous decor. Had a great meal here with my other half and will be returning again. The venison was cooked to perfection and the chefs really know what they are doing with the flavours. Great find, must go if you're in Edinburgh.

As a large group of 10 with various allergies and dietary requirements they were fantastic. Nothing was too difficult for them and the staff were excellent they went and got answers for all questions posed. Now the important bit. The food was fantastic kids portions were a nice size and everyone was nice and full. Would highly recommend

A delicious meal & a friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Lovely meal in this vibrant place. Haggis spring rolls, yum ( would have liked a warm turnip mash to accompany rather than chilled), salmon delicious and cranachan cheesecake, nice but too much creamy topping for base so quite sickly. Staff just lovely,friendly & obliging. Would definately return.

Found the place online and went there for an anniversary dinner while visiting Edinburgh. Staff were nice and the food was good, but it did still not quite live up to our expectations.

While good and tasty (though my seabream needed some extra salt) it just lacked that extra touch to push it up to five stars. Would still eat there again, but I have had better. Would also have liked a better selection of non alcoholic beverages.

Online it also seemed "classier" than irl, but it was a rather relaxed place once we got there, and a nice mix of people. Both families, couples, students, young and old folks, so they do not seem to attract any specific group.
