The Cobbles - Freehouse & Dining

Reliable sort of place. Always enjoy my food. Not gourmet but decent. Atmosphere is clean and nice and staff friendly. Last meal was a Sunday roast beef and it was cooked just right very pink. Came with well cooked vegetables.

Excellent food, great beer-particularly the cask offerings. In recent years consistently the best food in Kelso. Always busy so book ahead.

Came across this place by chance, we only went in cause it looked busy, they pulled out all the stops to get us a table without a reservation. The staff where unbelievably friendly, can not fault the local house Tempest lager well worth drinking, and food could not fault any of it, big thank you.

Yummy food and a warm an friendly atmosphere. Excellent selection of local beers and gins. Well worth a visit, book to eat so you're not disappointed!

We have been travelling around Scotland and England by bike and had not eaten very well at all in.. until we ate at The Cobbles in Kelso!

It was a super good experience and the staff appeared honestly innterested in our holiday experiences and took plenty of time to talk with us. The manager asked if we liked some bread and/ or fries with our main course, which we accepted, however we, as it appeared, didn't even have to pay for that!

As we were a bit short on money, we did not leave a tip ... but as it appears we do still feel a bit guilty about that. So we hope to hereby make it up whit you by writing this and wish you guys all the best!

been there about a month ago, the food was great, staff very friendly and most helpful, they accommodate us even if we didn't have a reservation and the place was really busy. they had also great understanding for dining with little kids. felt so welcome there, this is for sure one of the best places in borders. also the beer was excellent! we will be back.

Very professional service. The bartender was very helpful and gave samples to try the in-house brews. The Unforgiven and the Long white cloud tasted excellent!

Recommended by a local. Party of eight guns all very impressed. Not gust pub grub. Very good selection.

6 star for food & drink... But..

Need to separate eating from bar.
It's not a conducive environment when simply out for a social pint. One feels out of place and embarrassed laughing and drinking encompassed by diners... Food excellent as is beers and service... Not a good place for non food drinking though due to open plan.
