The Crafty Pig Description

The Crafty Pig - Brewhouse and Smoke Pit

BBQ and Burgers just got serious! When an upmarket neighbourhood bar meets its dive bar 'bit on the side' - the result is only going to be interesting. . .

With 14 draught craft beers on rotation, over 60 bottles craft beers, local cask ales and a huge range of Tequilas and Rums.

The menu is packed with low & slow cooked smoked meats including 16-hour smoked pulled pork, handmade burgers exclusively sourced from the herd of a farm in Lanarkshire and a unique slow-cooked ribs menu.

A full year of research, testing, trial and error and serious tastings has led to this collaboration which promises to deliver the best BBQ & Beer in town.

A games room with all day sports coverage, pool tables and beer pong give a refreshing point of difference in Glasgow West end.

The focus is on casual dining and the continuing craft beer revolution, creating an awesome place for everyone to meet, drink, dine and celebrate.

We held a charity event here and can't praise it enough. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Caitlin who was rushed off her feet but kept smiling. We had around 15 dogs with us and they were also welcomed and looked after. Good food at reasonable prices too. Thank you guys.

User

We had a great time. Food was fab. Beers are great and we had the pleasure of Kirsty our waiter who took amazing care of us. It's also a very dog friendly place which is fab.

User

Fantastic pub the atmosphere for the Scotland rugby game yesterday was great food never fails to impress gutted that there were no piggin hot wings left tho!!!!

User

Best pub in the West End for combining sport/food/decent beer. Very comfortable bar stools, and reasonably price beers in bottles and cans.

User

A must! Lovely place, nice music and terrific food! You can't go to West End without trying this pub. Interesting the beer selection and about the pulled pork...the best ever tried.

User

Just popped in for a beer with some friends, lovely place, nice staff. Bit pricey but it is the West end. We'll be back.

User

I can't comment on the food but the beer is good, as is the music and service friendly. I like this place, it have a good vibe that makes you wanna relax and enjoy your beverages

User

Had lunch staff were pleasant and very helpful, my chicken burger was burnt which was disappointing but 3 of my friends meals were excellent so I won't mark them down for my burger. Would visit again.

User

Great choice of beers, good food, dog friendly & great atmosphere- a good find in the west end

User

Good friendly atmosphere and great staff. Lots of screens to allow you to watch from most areas of the pub, will be back at some point.

User

Food was good ( the Big Plate) bottle of wine included on a 5pm deal servers were friendly & efficient & we were right on time for the sports quiz ( note my forte) nice enough lazy Fair Sunday afternoon.

User

Although we didn't eat, the food passing by looked delicious. We were their to drink. And that's what we did. Really friendly bar staff in general. And we went through most of the ales on offer. With the help of a really knowledgable barman.

User

Was left disappointed overall, prior to mine and hubby's weekend in Glasgow (first time) I researched and trawled google for food and drinks whilst there. I came across the crafty pig via Instagram and what I was seeing on there looked great checked the menu online and looked just up our street..... first I'll start with the positive the wait staff were pleasant and extremely helpful allowing me to try two craft beers before deciding and helped with what I was after whereby I found a wonderful strawberry beer (so nice I had 2). Food - we chose the phily cheese dog, a portion of buffalo fries and side of onion rings as we both didn't want a huge meal. I was so looking forward to this and all I can say is disappointing the fries were the thinnest palest fries I've ever seen (delivery was being made whilst we were there and the box said stealth fries) mmm pretty apt much prefer a handcut rustic kinda chip with BBQ (personal choice) these were simply covered in melted cheddar and I would hazard a guess at store bought buffalo sauce, the onion rings were over cooked and whilst the hot dog had a lovely piece of shaved brisket in it that was the nicest part. Whilst food wasn't terrible and it did arrive piping hot I just expected SO MUCH MORE from an establishment serving BBQ style food but maybe I've just been spoilt having had some really good BBQ both in the UK and USA.

User

Been coming here for a while and it’s usually good, however the food was way too over cooked and the service wasn’t great. The place seems different!

User

What's happened to the Crafty Pig the member of staff who served us was great but that menu is terrible. Used to love this place until the menu was reduced and find it's been reduced again and the new one isn't even on the website. Very few options, the mussels starter was totally overpriced and the dogs were dry. Shame, don't think I'll be back. Will probably head to bread meats bread along the road. Bring back the 2015 menu.

User

Venue is really good but the food wasnt that great to be honest. Chicken wings are so small... chips were cold but they did take them off the bill to be fair. Food is nothing better than frozen food tbh. Would go there again for drinks but prob not for food. My and my wife are always looking for a great wee place we can take our little pug Penny but although they do accept dogs we are still looking for that great place. Its not difficult to make decent pub grub surly!

User

I'm gutted as I loved this place! Was always great food, good service, dog-friendly and good alcohol-free beer if driving. However, the menu has changed (where's my ale-soaked brisket burger?!), there seems to be less choice and service didn't really happen. We both ordered choices containing brisket which to my mind should be soft and fall apart. Instead it was fatty and chewy. Not nice at all. Our mac & cheese side was bland. Our fries were decent enough but again, the chilli on mine was fatty and hard work. Being thirsty we both had a pint of coke (driving but all out of Nix beer). My full fat coke was £1 dearer than the diet. Eh? Told the guy who picked up our plates that we were disappointed but he was new so didn't know anything about the old menu. Please sort things out. I've recommended you to pretty much everybody I know x

User

Good bar with good selection and friendly staff. Just a shame that we paid £17 for a meal for 2 with a drink each up the road but couldn’t get change from a tenner for 2 bottles of beers in here.

User

Went here last night before going to the football as BRGR was closed. Waited 15 mins for a pint and nearly an hour for 2 burger and fries and side of wings! Wings cold, fries even colder and rock hard, burger not great. Expected a lot more as thought was part of same chain as Lebowskis, porter n rye etc. Doubt we will be back

User

Used to have a cool student orientated vibe, now far too many tv's. Didn't have any alcohol free beers (as I was driving) which they used to stock (West Nix). We were told no brisket available or soup then when I did make my order was then told they didn't have any hotdogs either! Terrible service as it took ages for our drinks to arrive. We ended up not having food and waited ages to be acknowledged when trying to pay and get out of there. Was quiet inside too which is unusual for the place. Seems like the cool vibe has left. We won't be going back I'm afraid.

User

Sorry guys only way I can explain it is place is a mess where do I start burger buns soggy batter on southern fried chicken soggy chocolate brownie brick hard trays food comes on dirty & looking through pass window at kitchen place looked bogging pigging hot wings arrived sent back as hardly cooked & with just sauce put over them when before when had them was like cooked/baked on wings as been coming in for like 3 years as crafty pig & 17 years all in looks like the place has taken a major dip plus pool tables filthy could do with a brush & pool balls need a clean new chef is clueless you’s are running the place like a grubby student dive food hygiene inspection required and you need to be more clear on pool table pricing 1 time is free next it’s £3 for 30 mins not worth it with the dirt on the table

User

Ordered £50 of food through Uber eats after reading all the good reviews. We were thoroughly disappointed with what arrived - the two racks of ribs were cold (not room temperature which would have been acceptable, but actually cold as if they had been chilled) as were the jalapeno poppers. Somehow the salad that came with the ribs was actually warmer than anything else which arrived. Baffling. The fries, chicken, mac and cheese were all "ok" - but the kind of ok you would expect from farmfoods.

I'm not sure if the chef/cook/whoever just had an off day, or they actively don't care about outside orders but I would not recommend this place to anyone.

After reading a few other reviews it seems that cold food and chefs having no pride in their work isn't uncommon.

User

Loved coming here for 2 piece chicken, walked in today to find out the menu has now changed and is awful! Less selection of things, also walked in to no staff available, waited at our table to then have to go to the bar and ask for some.

User

I went to the crafty pig tonight for our sports team's Xmas dinner. The food was awful. The rib starter was flavourless and ice cold, the brisket main was so tough it was barely edible, more like shoe leather. 10+ people in our party I polled echoed my experience, and disappointment. I also tried the vegetarian option a teammate at my table ordered and it too was completely inedible. Thoroughly disappointing, poor value for money and I won't be eating there again.

User

My chicken was tasty, so were the fries and the mac & cheese side! The sauce which I had been told to choose never materialised! His burger was burnt, I picked charcoal off it! I alerted the waitress, she took it to the chef! Then brought it back to say, that’s how it’s supposed to be! WTF! Is that okay? I said no, it isn’t! But no alternative offered! After reading other reviews on here, I can see it is common practice! We won’t be back and he works in the area, told him to tell his colleagues too! So disappointed! Especially for the price!

User
