We had a lunch for 16 people on Sat 15th April to celebrate a 60th birthday. We cannot speak to highly of the service we received from our waitress Sharon. She managed to take and serve our orders with a pleasant and friendly manner. Everyones food arrived at the same time. There was another large party in the restaurant which must have made it difficult for the waitresses and kitchen staff. Thankyou Sharon I hope your Manager rewards you for such good service.

Staff friendly, our four meals were delicious surroundings bright and airy.

The only down point was disabled access wasn’t great but unfortunately I don’t think there is much they can do about it. Would recommend.

Great early lunch with lovely service from the waitress

User

Excellent night at the Crooked Lum for Brian’s Birthday, our waitress Kat was amazing and attentive. Food was good, even the kids finished their meals from the main menu, and we all loved the cake Kellie bought her dad. Thanks to all the team that made it a memorable night.

The food was good and staff were nice

The place wasn't overly busy but staff were very attentive not waiting long for service but not hanging over tables

Nice meal on a Thursday night with a couple of drinks

Will definitely return

Had the Saver menu , quite a few choices from £5 , great value. We had beer battered fish , very good . Not the biggest plateful but £5! Great service

User

Bad luck or good luck?, dining out, Crooked Lum had fire evacuation, knowing meals would have to be recooked we hadn't time to wait for our new food order so tried to pay for our drinks order before moving on, bar bill was waived, really appreciated. Well done for excellent customer care and service. We will return to try out the food!

Waited 35 mins for our starter soup was look warm. After starter we waited another 35 minutes only to be told there was no rissoto left which my wife had ordered, so she had to pick something else .She couldn't see anything and finally went for a pasta dish .15 miuets later the mains arrived. After eating that we say with the dirty dishes in front of us for another 15 mins .Finally we got table cleard and order our sweet 15 mins later the sweet arrived so we asked for the bill at the same time .They deducted £5 of bill because they had no rissoto service very poor food not great won't be back .

User

I Took my mum here yesterday for lunch, it was a beautiful Sunny day, so we got to sit outside in there beer garden, lunch was lovely & service was good also , No problems will be back next sunny day off 😀

User

Good place for a few drinks on a Friday night, no heid the baws but the booze prices are a bit steep. Food is typical pub quality grease and stodge...eat with care!! The bar staff are very entertaining, come along and sample the atmosphere.

Went on mother day with the family.we waited ages for our food to come,my son ordered steak pie and it was very dry, looked like a frozen pie you get out of Morrison.we ordered a lemonade and a glass of wine and both came in the same glass, ordered chicken goujons and they came with a sauce over them, daughter wasn’t happy, don’t think we will be coming back again

We were first in the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, we waited over 1hr for a starter and then another 40 mins for the mains, bangers and mash and a gammon steak ( which was mostly fat). They had no mushroom for starters but we were not told this until we asked to order them, lots of the menu was unavailable and other tables were actually having to go find staff so they could take their orders.

This was us given The Lum a second chance after poor service in the summer but sadly disappointed again, a real shame as I used to enjoy this place.

User

I've had better here. To start with we were left standing at the door as no one knew where the Hostess was. Finally got seated in a table for five though we had booked for six.. There didn't seem to be enough staff on service was very slow. Kids meals didn't arrive with starters as requested. Sauce arrived when kids meal was finished. Sone of our staters looked like they had been sitting under a hot lamp for a while when they finally arrived. My steak was undercooked would have sent it back but couldn't find a waitress and when she did arrive at the table to ask if meal was ok she never gave us a chance to reply. Extra cutlery and drinks were practically thrown into the table. TBH I think they were just understaffed as have had far better service in the past.

User

I didn't get either the cheese and bacon (which I paid extra for ) or the coleslaw with my burger. My daughter's steak was over cooked and my son got about ten chips with his fish and chip main. This place had seriously gone downhill.

User

Waited for a while for food order to be taken, when rude waitress appeared & took order we had to ask for drinks..

The look she gave us!!! Ages for food to arrive & my mixed grill tasteless, wife said flatiron steak was nice. Asked for bill straight away to get out of there... seemed to be in staff fighting, don’t take it out on customers.... won’t be back.,,,

User

Shocking service and food tonight booked table for 5.30 for 3 adults and 11 month old we had 1 starter and then we were served our main meals at 6.45 the baby meal that was ordered was slow roasted beef with roast potatoes and gravy to which a sliced tough steak was served (I had checked when ordering it was tender for baby to eat) upon complaining we were offered some sausages which arrived after 7pm now too late for him he'd lost total interest, potatoes on 1 adult meal burnt and Yorkshire pudding on adult meals so over cooked 1 shot off plate when trying to cut it. Waitress serving had absolutely no interest and just stayed away from table completely. Normally regular customers after tonight's service and waitress attitude we will not be back!! We were also sat at table right by the door we said might be too cold as draft coming in but were assured it was fine to then be moved because it got so cold with doors constantly opening and closing.

User

Seriously? Sitting in a restaurant for over half an hour and they STILL haven’t taken our order. This is despite the waitress walking past us umpteen times whilst showing other people to their tables and even leaving in search of a table for a group of 4 (erm, you’ll have ours soon!). On her last walk-past, we were told “I’ll get your order in a minute”. 10 said minutes later, drinks well finished and still no order been taken. We then had to wait again to pay for our drinks - first time ever that I’ve been tempted to leave without paying! I won’t mention the uneven paving stones outside that are a dangerous trip hazard; especially in the dark! Clearly a place that needs (a) more staff (b) better staff (c) training of said staff & (d) investment. Doubt we’ll ever be back!

This was us given The Lum a second chance after poor service in the summer but sadly disappointed again, a real shame as I used to enjoy this place.

User

Staff friendly, our four meals were delicious surroundings bright and airy.

The only down point was disabled access wasn’t great but unfortunately I don’t think there is much they can do about it. Would recommend.

User

Great early lunch with lovely service from the waitress

User

Excellent night at the Crooked Lum for Brian’s Birthday, our waitress Kat was amazing and attentive. Food was good, even the kids finished their meals from the main menu, and we all loved the cake Kellie bought her dad. Thanks to all the team that made it a memorable night.

The food was good and staff were nice

The place wasn't overly busy but staff were very attentive not waiting long for service but not hanging over tables

Nice meal on a Thursday night with a couple of drinks

User

Had the Saver menu , quite a few choices from £5 , great value. We had beer battered fish , very good . Not the biggest plateful but £5! Great service

User

Bad luck or good luck?, dining out, Crooked Lum had fire evacuation, knowing meals would have to be recooked we hadn't time to wait for our new food order so tried to pay for our drinks order before moving on, bar bill was waived, really appreciated. Well done for excellent customer care and service. We will return to try out the food!

User
