The Cuillin Collective

We specialise in explainer videos, video editing, web & logo design and illustration.

The Cuillin Collective was founded by Marc Smith and Ailsa Hutton.

Both Marc and Ailsa have been involved in various creative and media-related activities for over 10 years. This involvement was always with a view to setting up their own business combining both of their talents to offer clients the best products and service possible.

After some time working together and honing in on what their business model was, The Cuillin Collective became a reality in 2009 and slowly but surely The Cuillin Collective has been built to what it is today.

The Cuillin in Cuillin Collective comes from the breathtaking range of mountains that surround our house - before we had even made Skye our home, we had stated our love for the area in our business name. The Collective part comes from our desire to involve other creatives around us to ensure that we can offer every single service we do. Marc's various web and video production experiences make him the perfect man to be in charge of all web and video at The Cuillin Collective. Marc works hard day and sometimes even night to make sure that he produces the best quality product, no matter what it is. Ailsa is in charge of design and illustration at The Cuillin Collective: illustrating explainer videos, designing logos, book illustrations and eye-catching web sites.

Since the start of 2012, The Cuillin Collective have expanded their ranks to now include Helen, who also lives in Skye and Tess, who lives in Edinburgh. Helen is a highly talented illustrator and has been undertaking all aspects of illustration for our explainer videos in the past few months, as well as some editing of our videos more recently. Tess is our resident writer, she writes and edits all of the scripts of our videos as well as the content for our site and the sites of our clients. You will quite often find Marc, Ailsa and Helen in the office on Skye and Tess on Skype in Edinburgh all working together on projects while having a laugh and a joke at the same time. We use various online tools to connect with each other as well as our clients all over the world, so location is never a problem.
