The Drovers Inn

About The Drovers Inn

The Drovers Inn is a unique hotel set at the very top of Loch Lomond. Our bar and restaurant are open every day serving heart warming traditional Scottish food. Live Music Every Weekend

The Drovers Inn Description

From the moment you pull up outside and then enter the Drovers Inn you just know that you are experiencing something truly unique. You can simply sense three centuries of Scottish hospitality. Within, you can truly feel the history of the people who have passed through; the ghosts are in the walls, generation of tails in the air. The Drovers Inn is an old inn used by the Highland drovers who used to drive their cattle down the side of Loch Lomond to the markets. The décor and furniture, in deference to the past, look as though they have not been changed or altered for a couple of hundred years. As you enter the reception hall you are faced by a full grown, stuffed grizzly bear, an assortment of other animals and the assured feeling that this place is going to stay in your consciousness for a long time to come! And for all the right reasons.

The weather seems to be holding for now. Take advantage of it with a few alfresco drinks before heading into to our atmospheric bar for some great food followed with live music from Drovers faves, Carnaby Street from 10pm

Are you brave enough to leave the house on Friday 13th? 🤣
Why not spend it in one of Scotland's spookiest hotels? Enjoy a few drams in our nostalgic bar and be soothed by live music from guitarist Peter.

The Drovers Inn is rumored to be one of the most haunted hotels in Britain! We have had many tales from customers who have had a ghostly experience whilst staying with us.
The stories vary from orbs flying through the air, cold chills even on the warmest of days, to overnight guests feeling a presence in the bed beside them, mostly suspected that this is the ghost of the little girl who drowned in the nearby river.

We're super excited to have the electric Jeff Jeffrey rocking The Drovers Inn this Friday evening.

User

We were stopping for a coffee, but as the food smelled delicious we stayed for lunch, great home cooking, large portions. Staff most friendly. we couldn't leave Scotland without saying goodbye to Andy and the girls, so we took another lunch a few days later. Don't change anything! we love it. (the chocolate-friends from Belgium ;-) )

Visited last night with my son(thanks to my sat nav) loved it. Sadly was our last night or we'd be back. Beautiful place inside and out and the decor gives that ye olde scottish warm feel about it. Could have easily worked my way through the menu but opted for the drovers steak pie which was yum, my son had the spag bols and enjoyed that too. Friendly, attentive kilt wearing staff. Would have stayed longer as enjoyed the scottish music but forgot the code to get back into holiday park we were staying at ha ha. Will definitely be back if up in Loch Lomond. Well worth a visit.

User

This is a classic historical Inn and if you are looking for clean and modern this is not the place for you. However I love history and thoroughly enjoyed my time in this iconic Inn. We stayed at the cottages opposite the pub and found the room functional and clean. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone who likes history.

User

Stopped here after a walk along part of the West Highland Way.. We were welcomed by some spectacular looking stuffed animals, the staff were all very welcoming and ensured we were seated and served. A great place in a great location, I would recommend as let’s say a ‘water stop’ if you are walking the West Highland Way

User

Some of the best lamb I have had in years! Highly recommend it if you’re passing by. Bring your appetite!

User

Scottish hospitality at it's very best. Friendly, helpful staff and fantastic food. All this set in the very atmospheric 300 year old building. Even my Pa praised the food (high praise indeed)!

User

It's a great wee pub ...traditional Scottish pub great food friendly staff make u well come the minute u walk in2 it ...great drive 2 it as well

User

It was a very welcome stop for a delicious bacon roll and coffee on our long drive home from Uists to the Borders.Exceptionally friendly staff made us very welcome on a driech day.

User

I've been in The Drovers a few times when dropping lawn mowers off in Scotland and it has always been a pleasure, I was even more grateful when the staff allowed my mum and dad to buy and bring back the raw ingredients for the highland burger when they were on their holiday so I could enjoy a taste of the Drocers back here in Lancahsire, can't wait to visit again!

User

I have been a few times - and the quirky slight oddball nature of this place will either grab you or not. Great simple food, superb whisky selection and quite a few basic style rooms - love it. Best Scottish pub (1705)...makes me smile every time. Go there.

User

Had a fab day for my hubbys 50th dinner staff were brilliant ...no room for us all at night was too busy but we continued to party at our nearby lodge...be back with a smaller group next time so we can stay for the music

User

User

User

Everytime myself and my hubby are out on the bike or on our travels we always stop here. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always second to none. Fact they allow our dog to join us is a massive thumbs up for me. You guys are doing a fantastic job and I will always look forward to popping in. Well done!!!

Brilliant place to stay! Very eccentric, which I loved, and great food too.The room we had was quiet, clean and comfortable,in a newer building over the road. The inn itself is very lively and full of folk,so this worked well for us.The staff were all excellent and we'll certainly be going back.Best place we stayed in on our West Highland Way trip.

User

Always a fantastic stay! Been here 4 times now and just booked up another weekend. Great entertainment on a Saturday. Staff are great! Only issue I have ever had is with the lady on the front desk who could be a bit more friendly!

User

The atmosphere is great the decor is amazing. Although I found the food to be not as good as I'd hoped. The place was busy although was full due to people coming in to eat their own biscuits!!! Rather strange and quite rude of them.i thought

User

There was 11 of us stopped off on way home, we ordered 8 pints of tenants 1 tenants and lemonade and 2 soft drinks. We received only 7 and it was the worst pint I have ever had. Think that this was watered down and pretty poor
