Went on saturday night 630. Booked table. Orders for drinks taken almost as soon as we sat down. Brought to table within 5mins. Given ample time to look at menu which has a great choice for all tastes. We had a shared starter between the 4 of us which was a good sized portion to be honest. Didnt have to wait long for the mains to arrive which when we got them were all again good sized portions no complaints about the temperature of the food either. The chunky chips were piping hot in fact. We didnt have a pudding as we were all full. Would recommend a visit and we will be going back again.

User

We held my sister in laws baby shower here today, the buffet was lovely and the staff were great, so friendly and went out of there way to help and make it a lovely afternoon.

User

Had our church's annual Christmas meal here this evening, an outing we've done for many years at quite a few venues in and around the town. This was by far the best. Excellent service by all of the staff and even more excellent food. All meals hot and extremely tasty. The turkey was particularly good. We look forward to returning in the future.

User

Great food. Lovely staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

User

Great food and excellent service, given plenty of time to look through menu, would highly recommend a visit. Looking forward to our next meal

User

Been a few times now for something to eat which is always spot on for taste and value for money. But we went along to the Karaoke Disco on Saturday and had a great night out. The music was our era and the company was friendly. We will definitely be back.

User

I’ve always rated the Elizabethan as decent pub food and good service. I have to say tonight it was really bad. The service in particular was shocking! Over 3 hours for 6 people to have 2 courses and the waitress wasn’t interested. She said we would need to keep our starter cutlery as she didn’t have any more and would have to polish some. Safe to say we told her we would like clean cutlery! My food was tasty enough, Stornaway black pudding fritters and mini Mac and cheese but friends got steak and halloumi salad which they all said were poor! Not great tonight at all!

Wanted to edit this review and say that the pub got in touch and were extremely professional and apologetic. I went for lunch today and delighted to say it’s back to the usual very high standard if service and quality! Great to know that customers comments are taken seriously! Thank you!

User

Had a table booked for 6 people for meal and had tickets for the Elvis Tribute. Meal was lovely and show was really good. The only downside was that 3 of our company were drinking Morgan Spice and when we went to bar to get a round in we’re told they had run out and it was only 9.00 pm. For how busy the place was and it’s not a small venue thought this was ridiculous.

User

Had a nice meal with my cousins last night. Can recommend the Italian Chicken and also the cinder toffee cheesecake.

User

Just been here for lunch and the service was really terrible the waitress forgot about us half the time we went in at 1.45 and we were still waiting for our sweets 2 hours later even though the waitress was standing around drinking coffee very disappointed the meals were good but we won't be back

User

For the second time in a row we were let down by slow service. In our previous visit it took 40 minutes before we received our food however it was a busy spell so perhaps this could be excused. Last night we were in (a Monday night) and when we arrived it wasn’t what I would consider to be busy. We were shown to our table and our order taken really quickly which was great. However after thirty minutes we still didn’t have any food and three tables who had all ordered after us (two of which weren’t even in the restaurant when we arrived) all had their meals and were eating before us. We had intended on having dessert but decided not to bother as the service was so poor. We were regulars but after the last two poor experiences we will not be back. The food was fine when we received it but you are being let down by your service. The one good point is to give credit to the girl (I am not sure of her name sorry ) who was so apologetic for the poor service, she handled the situation really well when we explained what had happened and I would like to thank her for that.

User

Arrived just before 12 ordered food and we were the first people in the pub. We waited 20 on our starter (nachos) we were told that the kids meals would arrive at the same time, they did not. We then waited another 20 mins for our mains, they arrived and all the food was clearly frozen not made from fresh. I didn’t enjoy the macaroni the sauce was far too runny. It definitely wasn’t worth the nearly £40 we paid for and I won’t be in a hurry to be back.

User

Went for meal with friends , given they kept our table for an hr , but given we we were only Ones eating at that time. . After meal , dirty plates left on table for over 1:2hr had to ask if they cld be taken away. . Waitress told me on a break . More than 5 times. .si felt I then I to apologise . Food over flowing plate no place to eat off plate. . Left all of chicken no one ask if there was anything wrong with food. . So won't be back , more is not always better . Plus smell of smoke with clients lighting up before leaving bar and staff not saying anything .

User

Visited yesterday for lunch with 4 friends and to be honest not sure if Id return. When we arrived at 1.00 I wouldnt class as busy. It was anout 20 mins before we got drinks and 1hr 25 mins before our food finally arrived. We ordered 3 Tapas and 1 pasta dish (Im sure the sauce was from a jar!). Considering 90% of food required No cooking there really was no excuse. The Chef should have owned up and admitted they had forgotten our order as we could see others were receiving their food. Give the manager his due he offered a 25% discount but Im afraid this wasnt my first experience of poor service. Its a shame as the food is generally quite good ( appart from the Penne pasta!) Management need to get the kitchen service sorted else youre going to lose a lot more customers. I see from other reviews theres no splogy from the management which Im afraid says a lot about how you vslue your customers.

User

Spent a weekend in Fife and tried to get a table at the Elizabethan on 2 occasions with my family (around 6pm on a Friday and around 6pm on a Sunday). On both occasions we were greeted at the door with a "have you booked a table"? "Sorry we're fully booked". On the Friday it did look busy, so that's fair enough, but on the Sunday there were lots of free tables! You obviously didn't want our business, so we took it elsewhere!

User

I don’t normally post negative reviews and despite the bad reputation this place is getting we decided to give it a try. Arrived after a walk with our 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Greeting went something like “have you booked?”. We said “no, but just wanted a drink for us and the kids and maybe some chips. Told no tables we are not taking walk ins! Explained we would be happy to sit outside so waitress said she would check with her manager who had her back turned to us the whole time. Then they said we could sit outside but it would take over 45 minutes for food. We then suggested a couple of bowls of ice cream for the kids and were told this would take just as long as it would have to go through the same system!? Manager still didn’t turn around left in disgust.

Understand they were busy but zero attempt made to be even remotely flexible. No empathy, no manners, no interest and really no idea about service.

User

Halloumi steak salad tasteless chewy meat cold chewy halloumi. As for the service just as bad waitress obviously didn’t want to be there with the puss that she had on her. Told us to keep our dirty starter cutlery because she didn’t have time to polish us clean cutlery for the main course. I’m sure once this was supposed to be something that’s never been done before in Dunfermline. Wouldn’t hurry back.

User

Disgusted with Elizabethan this evening, my son and his girlfriend and 6 off his friends went to go watch the football tonight and their were at least. 4 tables empty that had reserved signs on with no one at them when they asked when they were reserved to they were told from 5.30pm but the people hadn’t turned up yet but couldn’t give them the table???

The asked about another table and said they’d be happy to squish in round it as they wanted food and drinks, flat no.

So they would have spent approx £30 - £40 each give or take and they have now come to my house ordered take away and got a carry out... you guys must be on cloud nine with all the money your making , absolute joke.

They won’t be coming back either.

Seriously you guys need to get a grip on your staff training and policies... totally ridiculous. Reply would be good as you’ve never replied yet on other complaints which are getting increasingly more often.

User

As someone who lives locally, after attending the football today we walked along to have a couple of pints before walking home. Unfortunately we were greeted by 3 bouncers on the door who informed us we were not welcome to enter the premises as we were football fans!!!

As a business that has made money out of football fans (me included l) for many years I find this shocking.

This might be the closest pub to my house but it will now be the last one I’d ever visit!

And I’ll make sure any friends that would attend on football days are also made aware of your new policy.
