Staying here with a film crew - working all hours: the staff are extremely friendly and the food / accomodation are top notch! Would highly recommend !!!

Nice place, friendly staff and lovely food. Stayed overnight in one of the rooms which had plenty of space and nice comfy beds but the walls are thin so you can hear other guests and passing cars easily. Pub and hotel is well lit and signposted just off the A1 so easily accessible and has good on site parking.

Pleasantly surprised! Meals are amazing! A bit intimidating when you first walk in with all the locals eyeing you up and down. But are friendly once you smile and say hello.

Didn't see many good places to stop off and have lunch between Edinburgh and Newcastle. This is the first place that caught my eye and my insticts were right. I enjoyed a tasty meal and a coffee before setting out on the road again. Conveniently located right beside the A1.

Got married & stayed in b&b which is separate to main pub, they made our day & stay special, truly memorable and wouldn't have changed a thing

Absolutely stunning wee place! Very reasonable, gorgeous decor, staff are amazing very welcoming and the rooms are incredible. Food is absolutely firat class too. We will definitely be back - loved it!
