The Glen Golf Club, East Links, North Berwick Description
WELCOME TO THE GLEN GOLF CLUB, NORTH BERWICK
The Glen Golf Club is one of the most popular of East Lothian golf courses. Whether you have played golf in Scotland before, or if this is your first visit, the Glen, is a golfing venue not to be missed. This North Berwick East Links course enjoys superb views across the Firth of Forth and provides an enjoyable test of golf for all levels & abilities of golfers.
If you are planning a golfing holiday in Scotland or organizing a golf tour or golf package, take the opportunity of including the Glen. East Lothian golf is special and the Glen enjoys a central location in the 'Edinburgh Golf Coast'. We look forward to hearing from you!
The Course
In the 17th century Golf was first played in North Berwick on these historic East Links. Originally laid out as a nine whole course in 1894 it was extended to 18 holes in 1906. . . James Braid and Ben Sayers provided the design. Ongoing continually we are seeking to improve our course, we have upgraded greens, added new tees and our green staff who are expert in the art of building revetted bunkers have added a few new beauties. The course set up is important and with that in mind we try to keep the rough in check, offer wide fairways and smooth quality putting surfaces, we really want you to enjoy your next visit.
Suiting players of all abilities the course is a challenging, but fair, 6275 yards par 70 for men off the medal tees, and a par 73 5773 yards for ladies.
The Glen enjoys a breathtaking cliff top location with many spectacular holes offering views of the Firth of Forth and its islands including the Bass Rock, the world renowned bird sanctuary. The Glen is an all year round course and is seldom closed due to weather, playing normal greens and tees throughout the year.
The Clubhouse and Shop
Looking majestically out over the course and the Firth of Forth, the clubhouse offers a top quality bar and catering service in each of two beautiful lounges and dining room.
The well stocked shop, which has a SALE at the moment, will provide all of your golfing requirements.
Golf Coaching is available from Stuart J Campbell PGA Professional - Inspire Golf Academy. Stuart does individual, group sessions and corporate clinics.

Congratulations to defending Club Champion Finlay Goodlad who shot a new course record 66 today in the second qualifying round of this years championship.
It’s been a busy week for the club hosting the US Kids competition. The weather was not good to us and made for longer days than we expected. I would just like to take the opportunity to thank the club staff and all the volunteers for the work you all put into the event. Jim Sear captain
Niilo Maki-Petaja, the winner of the US Kids 14 year old boys with his caddy, Glen member, Craig Reid. Niilo recorded a course record from the yellow tees with a 5 under par round, 65.
U.S. Kids Golf- Tuesday 29th May. A frustrating day for everyone involved at Glen East Links where the course was shrouded in mist most of the day making play impossible. For those who doubted the decision not to start the days play at the proposed re-arranged time of 2pm with a 5 hour time slot being required until 7pm, it is now 3.48pm and the course is again unplayable due to mist. We would have had 12 groups on the course with the rest standing around again with no prospect of playing. We were as keen as anyone for the event to go ahead today but the safety of the players, spectators, volunteers and staff has to be our top priority.
The course is currently closed due to heavy fog. We will review the situation at 09:30 and hourly thereafter
Tom McGinley and the Captain enjoying some good Irish Hospitality from out sister course County Wicklow in Ireland. Thank you all very much.
Friday 6th April. Delighted to say the course is open. There are a few areas of standing water and some bunkers are full. Preferred lies remain in use.

The Glen "Masters" Hickory Competition scheduled for Sunday 8th April 2018 has been cancelled.

Very pleasant friendly club and the course was in great condition. Very enjoyable first nine playing down-wind in the main, but a very different prospect back into the wind. Would thoroughly recommend.
The first time I've played and most certainly won't be the last, the course was excellent and in great condition with some stunning holes. The views where great so much so that if you played a bad shot all you had to do was look left or right and you just forgot about it.
The staff where first class and the clubhouse was very smart and ultra clean.
Thanks for the day and keep up the great work.
Really enjoyable course and a joy to play. Unfortunately the 13th hole was closed which we weren't told about! The food in the clubhouse was perfect. A great day out but one disappointment with only playing 17 holes. Still worth the 5 stars
