The Gym Edinburgh

It's clean, lots of kit including sand bags, bosu balls, balance discs, soft boxes, ropes, etc. Just the classes are run in the functional area of the gym, so not much room, not very private and takes up space from other people exercises. But it is undergoing a refurbishment in a week or so and this might be addressed. Like anywhere can be pretty busy at peak times, but a good gym at a good price (£17.99 a month I think)

The Gym is big enough but not too crowded. It was perfect for me! The personal trainers are friendly and very helpful. The price is affordable.

It's cheap, clean and has a great location. However, that's where it ends for me.
Firstly, I don't know what they were thinking when they chose to stock it. There's so many daft machines, about 20 running machines and 20 sit down bikes to name a few and only a tiny selection of bar and free weights. There's loads of bars but hardly any weights to put on them!
The free weights section is always heaving and you have to wait for ages to get a bench. In a gym of this size, why they only have 1 bench press is beyond me

Secondly, some of the staff can be quite rude and unhelpful at times and are a bit up themselves and judging by the standard of personal training have no right to be. I witnessed a male 'trainer' training different clients over several days and was shocked at the completely obvious beginner mistakes that were not even picked up on. The clients form on virtually every occasion was terrible and could have risked a bad injury. Other times people I seen people who will clearly not see any benefits as they just weren't doing the exercises properly. I don't know where they're getting SOME of their staff from but their trainers need some training themselves.

If you're after somewhere cheap and not that bothered about free weights it a good place to start otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

The gym has a wide range of equipments. It is quite a big facility which means you'd get to use a machine most of the time. Pick the least busiest time slot for the gym so you can have it almost all to yourself or you can also go at busy times to help motivate you. They have lockers provided, toilets, and a shower area.

Great value for money. The Gym Waverley is located right in the centre of town, has a good range of facilities, and nice staff.

Very convenient location and lots of good equipments to train yourself. Best is no binding contract but sometimes for this Center they have one time joining fee which needs to be checked as under some offers they might be waiving off joining fee. Joining fee is not in every location but is there in gym on Waverley

Perfectly located basic but does the job. Plenty of free classes, some experienced trainers and convenient 24h opening times. Hygiene and cleanliness could be improved. Weights only go up to 38Kg

Good gym with plenty of weights and machines. Too busy between 18:00 and 20:00 during the week

5 star for price and facilities. It's not a fancy gym but it's a great gym for exercising.

Great resource available when I want to use it. Only criticism is the loud volume of the naf music that always deafens you. Take your own music to drown it out.
