What a fantastic park! We visited on a wet and soggy August day but there was still plenty to do. Parking at the stadium is free, and although it's a bit of a walk there's several Geocaches on the way to the Kelpies themselves..if you're into Geocaching. The adventure playground is fab. We loved the interactive musical play parts. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Definitely somewhere to spend a few hours, fantastic for children.

What a fantastic day we had - "Horsepower" at the Helix! Wonderful free family event and since we arrived promptly at the 10am start, we got a free parking space. Those helping direct cars and pedestrians were very approachable and pleasant and without exception the many 'horsey people' we chatted to were full of enthusiasm and knowledge of their particular 'breed'. Must have cost a lot to arrange such fantastic demonstrations of horsemanship, working horses, traditional crafts and skills not to mention the amazing horses themselves! What made it just perfect was the sun shining most of the day...who'd have thought it after the summer we've had? Portaloos were the best-kept I've experienced, and checked/cleaned regularly. Initially, we couldn't find any programmes or maps to follow, but once it got going, we picked some up and had a fun-filled day watching the many events in and around the Helix. First visit to the Kelpies too - what an experience!! I will certainly be back...please run this event every year!

We popped by after a visit to the Falkirk wheel today. It was later in the afternoon so there was 20mins of shop and cafe opening time left.

We walked around the Kelpies and then to the play area (which was fantastic).

Overall a great way to spend an afternoon and we hope to return in the summer to make the most of it.

One thing i did feel though is that the Kelpies in the dark/dusk is a must and thought it would have been lovely if the grill was open until maybe 7pm.

It would certainly make its money - there was more people there at 6pm as we left than when we arrived in daylight hours!

User

We had a really good day, kids loved watching the Knights on the horses, only down fall was we stood for an hour for a turn on the horses and when we got to the end it was £4 pp, not that I minded as it was free to get in, however they could have displayed the price, overall a good day.

User

We had a great day at The Big Picnic. We didn't finding parking tricky, parked at the stadium easy to get in and out. The set up was fantastic, we loved the family assault course, perfect for all ages. The music and other activities suited us all. Will definitely be at the next big picnic.

User

Thank you so much for our Kelpies goodie box from winning the eyes competition, at the fire and light show! Was a lovely surprise to start the New Year! Will be visiting again very soon! Xxx

User

Many Thanks to The Helix for inviting Pyroceltica to return for the 3rd year to the wonderful Fire and Light event.

What a magical backdrop the Kelpies made for our fire show.

User

Just love this place - The Kelpies are amazing and there are so many paths and btis to explore - its a great day out for all the family.

User

I visited the Kelpies on Thursday 22nd Feb 2018 with my 2 children and a visiting friend. What a wonderful day.

We were greeted by the lovely Amy who sorted out my tickets as I had forgotten the email confirmation. We booked on the Tour. Our guide Andy was amazing - funny, informative and knowledgeable. Jamie, Louise and Jesse feel in love with the story of Duke and Barron, who we think maybe near us in Oban. If we are able to, we are going to try and locate Duke and visit him in his retirement home. We shall definitely be back in the summer when we can enjoy more of the park.

Thank you Amy and Andy for making our visit so enjoyable..

User

I traveled 1.5hrs and brought my son and nephew to the Horsepower event. It was wonderful, we loved the storytelling as well as all the horse demonstrations, many we will never get a chance to see again. Wonderful to see some rare breeds too. A great event and well supported.

User

Had a great day didn't know the event was on but it seemed all the kids and adults were having a great day. Parking was a nightmare never have i had to pay CASH before going into a car park maybe a pay station would be better someone is getting cash in the hand for this 😏But the place is beautiful and clean . would recommend going but don't pay for parking near the kelpies.

User

Fantastic place just to unwind and let the kids have the freedom to do and run about, only thing I would say in the summer holiday months the WC closing at 8 pm and no cafe for a coffee, wasn't great, but it's a great outdoor experience for kids, parents jogging and dog walking.

User

The Fire and Light festival was fantastic. A good variety of activities and well laid out route. The actual fire show, by the Kelpies was superb😊a great event for all. Would, bea ggrea evn to etend to Hogmany.

User

Parking was a problem, we had to park up at the college as the car parks were full. Plenty for the kids to do, it cost as little or as much as you wanted to spend.

Kids took part in activities tent, tennis for active kids watched some of the displays in the arena, also listened to the story telling in the woods, as well as a general wander round looking at the different horse themed activities and speaking to different people.

Rounded the day off with a wander over to the kelpies and a play on the climbing frames at the park.

All in all a fine day out.

User

Overall we had a great day but the prices were a little too high in my opinion. Especially for the horse and cart ride which was £4 per person and only one way. If you wanted to come back it's another 12 for a family of three. £24 for that to me seems rather steep but it was a nice experience. Queue for the pony Trek was massive but the riding school associated with it were excellent in coaxing my already nervous daughter onto a large horse. Parking is always an issue here and it was even more noticeable on large events but that said it was well managed. I did see a few cars that hadn't Parked in spaces getting tickets but not sure if they were just local or council issued.

Being the first one I'm sure you've learned loads and look forward to the next.

User

Had a lovely day. Seeing the Kelpies they are amazing and we really enjoyed our walks along the boardwalk seeing the wild flowers, the young signets with there mother and ducks spectating to see what was going on. The cafe and the walk along the canal was excellent. Only gripe your webpage shows close by parking £2 but the charge at the attendant is actually £3.

User

We had a really good day lots on and busy however just one thing I would like to mention when holding event it's not been looked at disabled friendly ness boards could have been place around grassing or on top as my mum had to struggle to push around also getting in and out of rented areas also not disabled friendly as nearly got flung out chair a major issue that I think the helix need to look at but other than that we had a very good day

User

I visited yesterday with my two children and found that there wasn't much to do unless you wanted to go into the rest of the helix complex. Sign posts where not clear and also the weather wasn't great. Travelled two hours to get there and felt a little disheartened. The kelpies themselves are amazing and a wonderful sculpture and I may have enjoyed them more if I didn't have the kids with me

User

Fire and light event was good but the usual Rip off £5.50 each for a walk in the park seems excessive as did charging for the baby because he's over 1. Parking was £5 per car but we'll organised and the usual over priced drinks stands. Lights were goods and lots of them fire displays were a bit underwhelming
