It's the little things, like the dark room due to the dirty windows and the tree right outside which blocks the view. The broken or missing tiles and mismatched taps. The electrical sockets, and radiator (small fan heater available instead) which don't work. The shouting and sweating in the wee hours from outside of the bar below. Otherwise slept well in a comfy bed. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Pretty bad place, understaffed, uncared for and unorganised. When we arrived they didn't even have a record of our booking. So we had to stay in single rooms rather than double which we booked initially. Genarally quite tacky and hmm.
Nice Hotel. Very good service. Good chef. He accommodated a lot of our requests patiently.
Staff are lovely but our rooms needed refurbishing - basic but comfortable.
Basic accommodation but as expected for price. Rooms feel worn. However bar is pleasent and buffet breakfast is good.
Sat out in the garden here at the weekend in Aboyne. The hotel is in a prime location but the garden was over grown
Terrible place. Tiny room was in poor state of repair. Pipes for heating exposed and not attached to wall properly right next to bed. Wallpaper was peeling off. No sound proofing between rooms or windows so very noisy. Curtains didn't fit so street light shining in all night. Didn't try the food.
Just came for a break from motorcycling tour, had some soft drinks and sat in plush chair... Great break!
Attended a Christmas function at the hotel. The reception area is nice with a good selection of soft seats. Trying to get a drink from the bar was a bit more challenging as the bar seemed to be busy. The food served was OK and offered value for money but could certainly not be described as tasty. The room we used was warm and well decorated and the staff were warm and welcoming.
