Staff was very lovely and hospitable, even told us where else to go besides this place and what we could expect, which was why we decided to patronise anyway and ordered scampis to takeaway. Ended up paying £10.50 for eight tiny pieces of scampi and what seemed to be about 20 pieces of chips. Disappointing portions but really helpful staff in a quaint Scottish hotel.

Great Hotel, central to village.Village is small but very friendly. Plenty of walks & red squirrels if you know where to look.

Had a lovely cup of tea, was just expecting a cup on it's own but it came on a silver tray with a silver pot and spoon and some small biscuits. The gin and tonic was also very nice!

Turned up without a reservation and got seated straight away. Our server was coloured gentleman and couldn't have been any nicer or helpfull.

Stayed here with a large group. My room was perfectly fine although others complained about the state of their bathrooms. Some of the staff were very friendly, some were very surly.

Perhaps one of the strangest hotels I've ever been to. The young receptionist seemed friendly, and the rooms were quite comfortable.

However, when going to eat, and having breakfast or making any kind of unexpected request, everybody from the staff seemed to say "I'm new and have only worked for two weeks here. I have to ask somebody." And they pointlessly walked around back and forth. One of the waiters even got aggressive because we asked for a napkin on the breakfast table (that we ended up cleaning ourselves, 15 minutes after sitting and waiting). Cutlery was chaotically dumped on the side of the breakfast table, without any assurance of whether or not it was clean. The breakfast room also had like 8 tables...Obviously it was full and we had to wait, considering it was a hotel with tens of rooms.

The entire system was ridiculously inefficient. Waiters seemed to operate as robots working off of a "badly oiled" centralised computer.

Strangest staff I've ever encountered. Couldn't even answer simple requests, couldnt process card payments...

It was an interesting experience overall.
