The Lismore is an institution; involved in its local community and a mainstay of Glasgow's annual West End Festival. Winner of the Scottish Licensed Trade News "Whisky Bar of the Year" in 2005, the decor includes specially commissioned stained glass depicting scenes from the Highland Clearances, a reference to the ancestors of many of the Lismore's regulars who were Highlanders and Western Islanders driven off their land and into the city in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Situated in Glasgow's bohemian Partick neighbourhood, the bar's eclectic mix of clientèle reflects the wide backgrounds of those who call Partick home. . At the foot of Byres Road by Kelvinhall Underground station, in recent years the former ship building hub has become synonymous with music, food and fashion. The Lismore's interaction with it's community sees its active involvement in the area's annual West End Festival and other neighbourhood events.
