The Little Neuk (Permanently Closed)

Nice folk, very inexpensive. Really basic, fine for acquiring calories after a long bike ride but not high quality by any stretch. That said, one of the few breakfast options in Fort Augustus.

Food was terribly expensive and really bad. We got a drip coffee and venison burger. I would highly recommend not eating here.

But 3 stars if not walking the Great Glen Way. The coffee was fine, prices ok, but no wifi.

However, myself and my girlfriend have been walking the Great Glen Way, a footpath nearby, and wanted a place to spend a few hours inside, read, play a card game etc. After about an hour, as I was talking with a woman who was leaving, the owner came over, said directly to unplug my phone because I should have asked before plugging it in, and walked away saying that "someone polite would have acted differently". The wall behind us had 4 outlets, so there was no question of taking up necessary outlets.

The place was mostly empty, so we were not taking up other people's place, but he did his best to make us feel extremely unwelcome, him and his (I assume) wife continuing to look at us sternly from time to time from the kitchen.

Your milage may vary, but hard to recommend this place to walkers/travelers looking for a comfortable place to pass the time.
