About The Lord Raglan - Emsworth

Backing right onto the moorings of Slipper Mill Pond, The Lord Raglan is a charming 18th Century establishment, this lively pub has a friendly atmosphere.

The Lord Raglan - Emsworth Description

The Lord Raglan enjoys a great reputation as another great food pub in Emsworth and beyond. We tantalise your tastebuds with an exciting selection of dishes to enjoy - try the 'sizzles' or our lovely steak and mushroom pie. Testament to the quality of our food, weekends do get very busy - we'd always recommend booking a table in advance if you can. With a lovely garden offering al fresco drinks at the water's edge, there's no finer place to be on a warm summer's day. Enjoy a hearty ale or crisp wine by the pond. Sunday evening means live music at The lord Raglan. Come along to enjoy great performances from local bands, and forget all about the impending week at work!

Went to see the band Bone idle on Friday night. what a lovely place, staff spot on and great atmosphere. they do seem to be making it a fun place to go. not tried food but menu looked varied and good prices that's next on my list.

User

We visited today for a Sunday roast, the service was brilliant and the food was very good and there was a Lovely relaxed atmosphere too, We will definitely be returning soon. 10/10

User

This place has everything for a perfect afternoon with family and friends, lovely garden with nice views. There is bar food plus a lovely menu of fresh home cooked meals which in my opinion was good value for money, we cleared all our plates :) The staff are friendly and make you feel at home adding to the lovely atmosphere of this old English pub. This place is perfect for all ages and I will definitely visit again.

This is our favourite pub in Emsworth. The staff are great, the food is all home cooked and amazing, the pub is lovely and cosy and it has the best beer garden in the village. My daughter held her wedding reception at the pub recently, the staff made the day very personal and lots of the guests commented on it being the perfect venue.

User

Such a friendly helpful and warm place. Very understanding and accommodating for my wifeโ€™s gluten free needs.

Sally and team were amazing, friendly and welcoming. My Granddad decided to have his 90th family birthday here and 50 family members were served up an awesome hot, fresh and very tasty Sunday Roast with all the trimmings and a large selection of hot & cold puddings too.

Unfortunately, a small sulky group of family members who sat in the corner upon arrival, did not communicate to ANYONE that they apparently had to leave by a certain time and walked out, missing their meals which were brought out a second they left. They also didn't pay for their ordered meals. I understand they have had the audacity to have left a poor service review. May I confirm this is NOT the case and I would like to apologise wholeheartedly to Sally and her hard working team for this appalling and embarrassing behaviour by members of my own family.

Really well looked after by the landlady and staff, I took 6 friends for a birthday dinner and had a great night, food was excellent, service was fast and friendly and the pink tequila she bought me was "interesting" thoroughly recommend it.

User

Once again The Lord Raglan with Sally and staff, (Dudley and Belinda on bar duty, George in the kitchen and Amy and Freya serving), pulled out all the stops for another huge party! Around 36 of us!!!!

Food pre-ordered to help the kitchen; the food brilliant as usual. Thank you

My grandads 90th birthday was a fabulous day, the food was hot and tasty, the staff were friendly and accommodating, catering for my husband who doesn't eat cooked veg or have gravy.

All friends and family (albeit a few, through their own actions) had an amazing day. I'm glad you got to cuddle my newest granddaughter at a week old.

Fantastic day and will recommend this pub to other friends.

User

My first time in the pub yesterday and I left feeling I'd known Dudley for years.

What a cracking fella

User

Held my 50th birthday celebration at The Raglan. We all had an amazing evening and was fun from beginning to end. Sally and the team have everything covered and I didn't need to worry about anything. The food was also fantastic. Would totally recommend x

User

Had a family dinner yesterday and as always thoroughly enjoyed it. Fabulous pub overlooking the water with really great staff and food. And the icing on the cake is the landlady Sally Mahoney ๏ฟฝ P.S. And of course the fabulous cheese plate served up by Lauren Pope :-)

Friendly staff, good food, good beer, lovely garden, wheelchair accessible and great views. What's not to like? I would thoroughly recommend this pub to anyone.

Fantastic roast dinner today

User

Came to watch the band last night as I had a friend playing in it. Very friendly pub with the owners very welcoming!

User

Beautiful setting, great food and HSB, one of my favorites!

Highly recommended.

User

Accidentally had dinner here on a Friday night with the kids (3 under 10) and loved it. Food better than expected, service a bit random but perfectly fine, and stumbled into the Friday disco post-dinner. Great evening. Only pub in Emsworth with a waterside view.

User

The most unwelcoming pub I have ever set foot in!

Tonight I went in for a pint at around 10.20, I only had a few coins with me but I did have my Debit card with me so I ordered a pint. 'ยฃ4.00' said the barman, so I handed him my card,

'Sorry, it's a minimum of ยฃ10.00' he said.

'Fine, can you charge me a tenner and give me the change as cash back?'

he asked his female colleague, 'No' she said bluntly and turned away.

I looked at the barman and said, 'you'd better keep the pint you've just poured me, and I left.

I was made to feel unwelcome, and quite uncomfortable at having to leave so soon after walking in.

Needless to say I'll not set foot in the place ever again, which is a shame as i live only a few hundred yards up the road.

Thankfully there are a good number of friendly pubs in Emsworth which don't have this prejudiced approach to people foolhardy enough to turn up without hard cash in their pocket.
