I have always loved baking. When my gorgeous little man was born and the long night shifts started, I found cat-napping on the sofa between his feeds made my back ache and I didn't really sleep . So one night, in the wee small hours, I took to baking. That was it. . . Bara brith loaves, banana and blueberry cakes, Victoria sponge, flapjack, caramel shortbread. . . The Midnight Bakery was born.

Well Manon is set to bake another week (SheŌĆÖs my sweepstake pick). Anyone else have a GBBO sweepstake going? Who have you got? Each week the person who leaves has to bake for the rest of the office and then slices are sold at 50p a slice to raise money for our charity. So weekly cake and money to a good cause. People can get quite nervous about actually cutting the cake. I canŌĆÖt lie I always worry a little but thatŌĆÖs mainly because when you make the cake you donŌĆÖt get to see what itŌĆÖs like when itŌĆÖs cut through. I love it when people send me a photo of the inside too. As for cutting I would say go for smaller pieces initially as people can always come back for more. This cake was sliced about every 1.5cm. The resulting slab then cut through the middle, 3 layers up and then each half cut in 2. Plenty of slices to be offered round and not too much to offer small children either. #themidnightbakerylichfield #birthdaycake #cutthecake

Yummy!!! Ordered some last minute cupcakes with just a picture from Google of a wkd bottle cap for the logo to go on each cupcake. The bottle cap was copied perfectly and the sponges themselves were blue and tasted delicious! Thank you so much for being so helpful at the last minute and then for being flexible with the date I needed the cakes. Amazing.

Sarah has made our wedding cake, my stepsons 21st floating malteser cake and my moms 80th birthday Carrot Cake. all have been fantastic, so tasty and beautifully decorated. She is willing to try out new challenges too. Can't recommend her enough.

I received a cherry cake which I won as part of the GBBO competition and it is AMAZING! As I live a distance away I was unable to collect, therefore we agreed on a surprise delivery. When my parcel arrived this morning I was so please to see it was a cherry cake. It was well packaged and travelled well. The cake is moist with an even distribution of cherries and a hint of lemon. I would defiantly recommend The Midnight Bakery to anyone. Thank you so much x
