The Mill Forge

Attended a wedding here. Wedding venue and food were great. Room for overnight stay was comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.

Was here for my cousin's wedding which was beautiful and very intimate. Alcohol prices were a little steep but service was top notch and the taxi driver was excellent 😀

What a venue to get married. Scenery is great and the Bridal Suite blew us away, especially for the price we paid. Staff were so helpful and accommodating. Excellent venue for our special day

We had a great weekend as guests at The Mill Forge in Gretna. It was my daughter's vow renewal event so we stayed for the whole weekend. We found the staff, food and management of the event very well done - so friendly and professional. The motel-style layout of the rooms, chapel, bar etc. was great lots of space for the kids to play outside. My only niggle was that the bed wasn't very comfortable but overall I'd recommend the venue for an all inclusive getaway wedding.

Fantastic place to stay; great value for money! The room was spotless clean and massive for what we paid, almost palatial. Staff were a delight and nothing was too much for them. The food was out of this world; very well priced and done to perfection! Overall this place is one of the best hotels we have stayed in as a family and will definitely be returning, soon!

Hotel is a little outside Gretna, but well worth the stay. The hotel is beautiful & picturesc. This hotel was brilliant, staff were so great. Rooms were clean & comfortable.

We arrived at the Forge and was made very welcome, we had visited to organise a wedding for later in the year. There was some maintenance going on as they where having a wedding fare that week end, but that didn't make the staff any less attentive even the chaps who were painting passed the time of day. We had a meal there which was lovely very well presented the staff in the bar were brilliant. Cannot wait to go back in July. All the staff were really friendly which makes you want to visit again. Thank you for a lovely visit.

I was visiting for my brother's wedding, a traditional elope to Scotland! The venue itself is lovely. The wedding 'chapel' is in the original mill's forge, and the room is smallish but was perfectly sized for 80ish guests maybe (we were less). The minister recommended by the venue was great, giving a personal touch with information gleaned from the wedding party, and not just reading from a script. There was an anvil which was hit with a hammer on the traditional Gretna fashion, and a piper to play the couple in and out.

Food in the meal was delicious, I had the haggis to start and steak. The meat was delicious and the portions were good. The bar is reasonably small, but it was very quiet and there was plenty of space probably for a party of 80-120, though serving space would be tight.

The following day we headed into Gretna itself, and it felt much less personal and private than the Mill Forge, so I'd recommend here over the actual Gretna Blacksmiths.
