If you contact Lochbuie Larder in advance of your trip to Mull, Flora can cook you some very good food and bring it to your rented house so you can just microwave it instead of having to cook for yourself. It's traditional Scottish type food, and well done. You can also ask her in to cook a full three course meal for you and it is high-class restaurant quality.

It is basically an unmanned shack on a beach quite far from anywhere. There is a however. Once you enter you'll find that it's a micro corner shop with basic cooking facilities and sells quality locally produced meat and vege stuff, we bought a pack of smokies and streaky bacon and fried them on our calor cooker on the beach and I have to say they were excellent. In this day and age it's a unique concept, well done to whoever's baby this is.

Loved it, a place where you are trusted to pay for what you get and a make your own tea/coffee all at exceptionally reasonable prices.

Tiny shop with lots of meat. Run on an honesty box basis. Make yourself a cuppa. Such a brilliant idea.

A must visit. Bring a BBQ and cash and relax on the perfect beach with amazing local food.

Very efficient in its day.
In the days where you had real film in your cameras, I was at the end of a roll of film and had to send it to be processed. It was 2pm on a Saturday and I had scarcely put it in the letterbox, when it was collected. I was impressed. Also, the movie "The Eye of the Needle" was shot here and the leading actor, Donald Sutherland, was driving too fast on the road out there (or back) and ended up in a loch at a very sharp bend. The next day, he did it again and the bend is now locally known as "Sutherland´s leap".

A really great thing - tea making facilities + snacks in a beautiful, beautiful place, even if the irn bru macaron was (to my soft southern palette) completely inedible.
