Morning Everyone,
Well our planning permission has been granted. We are now awaiting building warrant and a letter from our landlord confirming we can go ahead (formaility).
I did mention previously that we had hoped to close on 20th April if everything was through on time and that the preceding month would be free of charge.
... It doesn't look like we will have our warrant etc by then and instead of stressing ourselves out by setting more dates we will be closing when everything is in place.
Don't worry though we will give you all plenty of notice when we will be commencing the free entry. We are as excited as everyone else and can't wait to get going but most things in the lead up are outwith our control. Thank you for your patience.

Evening All,
Ewan, Jimmy and Andy have been bombarded with people asking if playzone or the nursery are closing as they have saw our planning application in the paper or had a neighbour notification. I shall clarify.
We have gone in for a planning change of use for the PLAYZONE half of the building. We HOPE to create a new 3000sq ft mezzanine which will become a LaserQuest arena. The ground floor will then become a roller skating rink and cafe.
... IF we get planning and IF we get the building warrant in time and IF we decide to proceed, then we would look to close playzone after the easter holidays with the new place opening in time for summer.
There are still a lot of operational points to be discussed but here are our plans.
If we decide to go ahead. As a thank you to all our customers over the last five years, the month of March (mon to fri) will be free entry in playzone although we will have a charity bucket if anyone would like to make a donation. This will be split between local children's charities.
The LaserQuest arena will be open to primary school children mon to friday between 3 and 6pm. Between 6pm and 10pm mon to thu we hope to run a secondary school league. It will be open to the public from 6pm and 10pm on a friday and for parties on a sat and sun between 10am and 12 noon, Then open to the public from 12 noon until 10pm.
The roller skating rink will open to primary children between 3 and 6pm mon to friday then older children and adults from 6pm till 10pm. parties sat and sun between 10am and 12noon then public between 12 noon and 10pm. Adult only skating, laserquest and roller discos will also take place and will be advertised. Private hire will also be available.
We will be offering roller skating lessons to adults and children alike.
Children from the age of 8 will be able to come without an adult.
THIS WILL NOT AFFECT THE OPERATIONS OF THE NURSERY.
Exciting times ahead and I will keep you all posted.

changing the sofas in playzone what do you think about RED leather?

PLAYZONE will be celebrating its 4th birthday on 16th May. up until now we have NEVER increased the admission. Unfortunately due to ever increasing operational costs we will have to increase the price a little. We all hope you understand that our suppliers have put their prices up too rendering this increase necessary. Denise

Playzone has reverted to normal hours

Playzone has been really quiet this week. We had a lovely evening with the Autistic Society on Friday. Do we mind it being quiet - not at all it means the SUN is finally shining.

User

Is your child having a birthday soon? Why not have it at Playzone. We can arrange exclusive parties from 6pm until 8pm for older children. Louise Innes of Happy Faces face painting can also come along and make it really special. Call Ewan on 01463 714666 to enquire

What are you doing this weekend with the 'wee ones' pop down to Playzone, Ewan and the team love a busy weekend, let us entertain you

User

My little one loved it , definitely be a regular visitor. Stayed for 2 hours , had to drag him away. Staff and parents were really friendly , 100% better than Frankie and Lola's wee one hates going there never manage more than 10 mins.

User

Kids always enjoy coming here! I only ever see them when they need a drink or the toilet. Always leave with little sweaty, red faced & happy kids. Bonus is I get to enjoy a coffee in peace 😍

User

I love coming to Playzone as they are so accomodating when it comes to my eldest son who is Autistic. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are very friendly. Have even booked my sons birthday party for Feb next year. Thank you.

User

Great place nice staff and not as overpriced and busy as franky and Lola's much more for our 2 year old to do love it

User

Fab place, very competitively priced. Good selection of food and drink and very welcoming friendly staff.

Would recommend, well worthy of a 5 star review!

My kids love PlayZone, it's a good size with plenty for them to do. Prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly & the food is decent. So as soft play goes, the kids will love it. We go to Frankie & Lola's quite a lot as it is a matter of minutes from our house but my kids like the change of coming to PlayZone & have a ball when they do - who doesn't love their massive slide?

In the past, I have gone & thought that it's been a bit cold in there but I've not had that opinion in quite a while so maybe that's has been addressed as it was a common issue that I heard regarding the place. My main gripe is the cleanliness of the play area: I'm not sure how easily these play mats are to move but they need to be periodically pulled out & cleaned around & under. I was in there yesterday & seen 2 pairs of old socks stuffed in a random place along side the dust/dirt & a 3rd pair stuffed in a semi-obvious place. Socks aren't particularly small, these items should be getting noticed & the place was very quiet yesterday morning so it's not items that were only just left. Don't get me wrong, you don't need to worry about your kids safety, it's not filthy, they could just do a better job.

Final thing, the two ball-pits need about x4 the amount of balls that are currently in them.

User

Great place for kids, lovely comfy sofas for the adults nearby, only thing I'd say is if your a first timer there was no info etc how long session was, which areas kids could go or age they go

First time at playzone.well worth the money.kids had a ball.2 hours of fun.the cafe was good and we will definately take our kids back.x

User

My son loves this soft play. Lots for him to do. Only reason for 3 stars is the cleanliness of the toilets and lack of gluten free options however, my son is the target audience and he loves it

My grandson had fun in play area but I was less than impressed with what I saw in cafe. The man who I assumed was in charge was taking money at door then working in cafe so was young girl. Neither were observed washing hands between both areas. Witnessed the man on a number of occasions getting tissue blowing his nose opening bin with his hand and getting rid of tissue, no washing of hands just carry on with his prep of food and drinks. He was also collecting dishes from tables then carry on with food prep. Was witnessed putting ham on panini with no gloves or tongs. No hand washing. Both people were taking money and then doing food things without washing hands. Wee wipe of knife on a cloth at sink before using it on something else before throwing it back in sink area. In the two hours I was there I witnessed the girl washing her hands once. The man never seen to wash hands anytime even when he was rubbing his nose with his hands on number occasions. I'm sorry but I'm glad I didn't eat there. Food hygiene is a must and this was not adhered to. Don't think I will be returning as this is not first time I have witnessed these things. Everyone deserves second chance but I'm not giving it a third

Hello we were in today for my daughter's birthday party and alot of people were concerned about your cleanliness of the place and that the room the kids went into for food had a table cloth for decoration and that was it! And no music or the leader didn't even entertain or do anything with the 7 children I had in! Alot of foo was left because some kids didn't even enjoy it... I just want to say that my daughter was happy as she's young but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone again as it cost us £110 for a basic play in the playzone with some lunch!!! And I'm never concerned ....

User

Definitely not suitable for small toddlers or babies!! Toddler section always full of bigger boisterous kids and no staff telling them to leave the area. Definitely won't be going back with my small toddler as too dangerous! Ball pit did not have enough balls either. Rubbish in play area too.

User

Can a 1 year old play here, tried the one in llansamlet 3 times and it does not seem safe. Large children over 10 crashing around the baby section. The baby section had almost no balls in the pit and we had to point out damage to the safety padding to the staff, in their defence the staff instantly went in and took action, very impressed with the staff on that note, but I do think larger children should be kept out by staff because kids ignore signs. And on about 10 occasions I have had to rush to pull my baby out of the way of very big kids and I'm really not the overprotective type but their over excited and running and don't notice a little baby in the ball pit when they do a cannonball into the pit. I sit right next to him at all times but there are often too many crashing all over the place

I cannot fault anything else but supervision would be a good idea

User

Adults and kids running around bare footed and unsupervised kids climbing up the slide is an accident waiting to happen and it's a cold place to be in

User

Absolutely freezing place! Young staff are pleasant enough. Could do with a deep clean!

User

Will not be back. Place was freezing... unclean. Tables were not cleared. Weren't told where to sit or if there were any tables available. Chewing gum on top of the table we were sitting at. For what we paid for kids to get in I don't think the cleanliness and staff attitude was worth it

User

This place is very disappointing! Walked in with my 5yr old and wasn’t even shown to a table, had to wonder around the place and find one ourselves. When we eventually found a table it was disgusting! Chewed chewing gum stuck to the table and menu, other people’s leftover food and dishes which was still on our table 40mins after we sat down! Freezing cold and the staff didn’t even speak two words to us! Definitely not the 5* it’s been made out to be and I most definitely won’t be will not be returning here! Away to ask for my money back as it’s so horrible I feel sick and don’t want to touch anything!

User

Recommend????.... you having a laugh.... came in to get out of the cold only for it to be colder in the place than outside.... staff could do with maybe getting paid more to at least put a smile on their faces and maybe not use teenagers...... it's that bloody cold that I bought a coffee to try and keep me warm but by the time I got it and walked to my table(which by the way was manky- but that's another story) it was fecking cold!!!... hygenie- not sure where to start with this.. place needs to close for at least a week and have a proper high level deep clean.... lesson well and truly learnt here and I should have went to the other establishment near asda. So to sum it up if you want cold, manky, poor food and miserable staff then come on down

User

Only been twice loved it the first time as it’s more spacious as most soft play areas, but today was awful. Got over charged for lunch genuine mistake ok but not so much as an apology, got offered a refund, great, but she didn’t come back with it and I had to chase her up when leaving. Staff have no customer service skills and barley cracked a smile and rude. Kids food came out with mould on it, older kids where playing in the baby/toddler area my daughter got jumped on and was getting hard balls threw at her, staff not doing anything about it, I had to tell the boy off 3 times while his mother sat doing nothing about it so eventually just left. We will not be back.
