About The Pompadour

Fine dining restaurant. Head Chef Daniel Ashmore.

The Pompadour Description

Since opening its doors in 1925 The Pompadour has gained reputation as one of the capitals most magnificent dining rooms. Known for stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street, The Pompadour takes its name from the celebrated Madame de Pompadour. The 'favourite mistress' of King Louis XV of France. Our exquisite hand-painted walls panels pay homage to his installation of Madame de Pompadour in the Palace at Versailles. The fine-dining restaurant continues its tradition of excellence under the guidance of our award-winning Head Chef, Dan Ashmore.

Make your selection or allow the chef to decide with the new à la carte and 7-course mystery tasting menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients. Head Chef Dan Ashmore, who defines himself as a 'Lover of all things fresh and British', selects only the highest quality ingredients available each day and carefully prepares them in a way that allows the flavours to speak for themselves. To compliment the dishes, our highly experienced sommelier has selected a collection of fine wines as well as unique signature cocktails.
