It originally opened in the 1970’s providing excellent freshly produced sandwiches, pies and cakes.
The Refreshment Bar Description
new ownership of the long established “The Refreshment Bar” café on Northgate Street in Blackburn. It originally opened in the 1970’s providing excellent freshly produced sandwiches, pies and cakes. The cafe has implemented a newly developed menu to incorporate modern foods with the more traditional freshly baked pies and cakes – all baked daily within our own bakery, using the best of locally sourced produce.

They do the Best milky coffees here!! Apple pie is lovely too and the best buttery toast!
The pies, cakes, soups are all fantastic. Great staff too. Highly recommend. Phil also catered my party, I had so many lovely comments from friends about just how good the potato pie supper was. Also had a veggie option of cheese & potato that was divine and a gluten free option. Blackburn buffets (Phil) should be everyone's first call for event catering

Called in to an old favourite after all the other cafes were shut down or closed never fails to impress the butties we had were huge and the best breakfast we had in a long time keep going refreshment bar!!!
Brilliant, provided sandwiches for 30 for a work get together. Great selection and quality. Will definitely be back
