Have been going to this restaurant for years but the service is not the same.We went in on Saturday for a meal sat down at 6.15 and left at 8.45 don't think I will go back, but can honestly say the food was good but the time from start to finish was far to long and you get past your hunger pang. Disappointed.

"How is this place still in business??". That is exactly what has gone through my mind the last 2 times I've been there.. The regent used to be the "go to place" for a Chinese in Stirling.. it's always been the most expensive but you could justify it because it was always the best, every time aswell but sadly it's nowhere near its former glory. £30 for a takeaway one Sunday night and it was without doubt the worst Chinese I've had.. Every meal now has this "jellotine" through it. Now I know that sounds silly but all meals look like they are covered in gloop and everything taste the same.. It was So bad that I felt I had to call up and complain and when I did I was told that when I come back in to give my name and they would do something about it

I Always give people the benefit of the doubt because we are all human beings and people do make mistakes so I booked a table for Xmas eve for me and my partner. When I went in and told them my name and tried to explain what the person had said to me over the phone they looked right through me. And the same happened again at the dinner table.. ordered 2 different meals this time and they were covered in the same what can only be described as runny snot.. Of course we never ate a bit of it it was disgusting.. but the most disappointing thing was when the waiter came to clear our table and saw that we both hadn't eaten anything.. she asks "was everything ok?" I was honest and said that I had been left disappointed again as both of us never enjoyed our meal to which she replied "well maybe you ordered the wrong thing"

It was at that moment I new I would never go back again...

Overall "the regent" is a restaurant that gets its custom on the name it has built up over the years. It's living in the past.. it's just ashame that somewhere so good now is so Poor..

Absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff. On the pricier side.

One of my favourite restaurants, it's a very relaxed restaurant though when it's full it can be a little cramped feeling. I love their set meal, which they are happy to substitute other dishes in to, the crispy aromatic duck is my absolute favourite part. It's nothing fancy, it's simply a very good Chinese restaurant but definitely suitable for any occasion.

After ten years in Stirling tried the business lunch was exceptional authentic and very good value will definitely be back
