How lovely it was to see Alice Ross yesterday at The River Bothy for lunch. She has just celebrated her 100th birthday! She was delighted with our newly renovated laundry room as she used to work in it 85 years ago!! ❤️

Yet again a cracking lunch, beautiful clean, healthy, fresh food! Nice to go out and get something you wouldn’t have at home- today’s Easter menu didn’t disappoint �������

Visited for the River Bothy for the first time a couple of weeks back. Delicious food - with imaginative veggie choices. Portions not huge, but that leaves room for the amazing cakes. Lovely decor, friendly and helpful staff, speedy service despite being full. We'll definitely be returning for more, perhaps later in the year after the NC500 season has quietened down a wee bit.

Visited River Bothy for the first time this morning, it most definitely won’t be the last. The food was fantastic, I had the ham hock and poached egg, the balsamic glaze was the nicest I’ve tasted. The staff are old friends so it was great having a catch up too. Can’t wait till our next visit.

Truly delicious lunch at the River Bothy .... out in the sun .. good food and delicious chocolate cake ! .. we shall be back ... as those meringues have to be tried !!

This is a fabulous place. We stopped for lunch and had the home made soup which was absolutely delicious. I also bought some Gin Balloon Glasses as they sold lots of lovely little things. Staff were friendly and it had a lovely ambience about it. Fantastic �

Sunday breakfast at The River Bothy. Smashed avocado & poached egg on cornbread, all deliciously consumed in the summer sunshine. Does life get any better? Thanks girls first class�

Our lunch here today was absolutely delicious, each of us had something different from the Easter and lunch menus available, everything was cooked to perfection and there was hardly a trace of food left on our plates! We enjoyed scrumptious puddings too, again each choosing something different from the wide choice of desserts and cakes. We left feeling full & satisfied and it was very good value for money.

The waitress was very kind & told us about the wee beach across the swing bridge (a hidden gem we’d have known nothing about had she not mentioned it), we decided to go a jaunt to it (a mere 5 mins away on foot) and we were not disappointed, stunning views across the water from the shingle beach.

We’ll definitely visit The River Bothy again for something to eat & to see more of the beautiful surroundings we have here in Caithness.

My first visit! Very tasty minestrone soup with Italian Toasties! I’ll be back for the beautiful selection of cakes �

Have been meaning to visit for some time and I must say that we were delighted with the food, service and surroundings. Will certainly visit again soon.

Had the most amazing afternoon tea here today. The sandwiches were so fresh and as for the cakes.......!!!! Great service from a very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. This was my first visit but definitely won't be my last.

Had heard so much good reviews about The Bothy - we visited this afternoon and had coffee and cake. Which was so yummy. We’ll certainly be back soon. Thank you.

Had a wonderful lunch today with Brian for his birthday. What a fantastic place, the staff are great and so welcoming and surroundings are so relaxing. The food is soooooo delicious. Thanks to Fiona and Staff for your excellent cuisine and customer service. We will be back....... �

Had a lovely lunch today. Very welcoming & lovely decor & setting. Hubby loved the Lemon meringue tart( infact he said it’s the best meringue he’s ever tasted ) � Our Sourdough toasties were delicious & very filling too. Will definitely be back very soon. X

You get a great breakfast with all local produce

Great food,latte was perfect,was just to full to even try the cakes etc, service was very good and all staff polite �

Friendly and fantastic service also cater for gluten free food was amazing defo would go back again :)

First time here today for lunch. Lovely food. Toastie and soup was great and to many sweets to pick from!

Beautiful setting, amazing food and great service. We have had a fantastic experience every visit, we had lunch there this week and there was a dairy free cake option for my youngest son which went down a treat!
