Today the Royal Regiment of Scotland bids farewell to one of our finest. Lt Col Gary Tait, MBE after 36 years service as a soldier and officer. He served first as a Royal Scot and then as a member of the Royal Regiment of Scotland but sadly lost his battle with cancer on Monday 17 June, 2019.
As the true committed and disciplined soldier he was, he fought his last battle with great dignity.
Our thoughts are, and will remain, with the close family, friends and colleagues that Lt Col Tait leaves behind.
This month has seen the regiment perform a number of different tasks ranging from ceremonial to adventure training!

We are at #EdinburghCastle for the arrival of HM The Queen, in Edinburgh!
It's a fantastic morning and Lieutenant Jamie Baxter is leading the guard out!
The funeral, with full military honours, for the Late Lt Col Gary Tait MBE will be held at 1130 on Tuesday 2nd July 2019 at Canongate Kirk, 153 Canongate, Edinburgh EH8 8BN.
Serving Military personnel attending the service are to be in No2 Dress Ceremonial, less swords for Officers.
Lt Col Tait's committal will only be attended by close family and invited guests at Inveresk Cemetery.
... The family wish to invite all those attending for refreshments at the Garrison Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess at Redford Infantry Barracks, Colinton, EH13 0PP. The venue will be open from 1300 onwards. Parking will be available on the main square.

Today we celebrate the contribution our reservists give, not only to the SCOTS, but to the entire Army. Reservists sacrifice much of their own time to train, allowing them to operate and deploy alongside their regular counterparts.

It is with great sadness that the Royal Regiment of Scotland gives tribute and sends condolences to the loved ones, friends and colleagues of Lt Col Gary Tait MBE, who sadly passed away on Monday 17 June 2019.
The Ceilidh Band of the SCOTS Band play tribute with a moving piece ‘Night in that Land’.
And we are off! The parade has gone through #Linlithgow.

Yesterday 2 SCOTS provided the guard at Edinburgh castle to mark the birthday of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
