A fabulous free museum which is wonderfully old school. Great cheap café that covers the basics and the coffee was actually great. The staff were lovely and the security guard (cat) was delightful. Thank you

Small, but some very interesting and absorbing exhibits. Kids loved the period outfits. Garden is lovely for picnicking...
Note there is a free carpark onsite. We discovered this after having paid to park on street...

The main room here houses the story of Stirling and is laid out mainly in chronological order with whole bones from when the area was under the sea up to more recent items from local shops and services. Bits and bobs most kids from about 7yrs would find interesting with a good selection of dressing up clothes and a small area with drawing and other activities. The other rooms have changing exhibitions one of which is usually paintings. Did get a chance to try the cafe. The garden area out the back could be used for picnics.
Top tip is that it's free admission and there is some limited free parking too.

Interesting, varied exhibitions programme usually of local interest. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed eating facilities. Very accessible close to the town centre. Pleasant, secluded garden grounds.

Well worth a visit and free! Lots to see from fairly ancient to recent history. Lots of artefacts and items.

A little gem on a wet day. Three things set it apart. Oswald the cat in residence, the ceramics exhibition and the small exhibition on the life and work of John Allen. Well worth getting wet for.
