This Weekend Folks!! The Old World News At The Taybank, Dunkeld

User

Wouldnt want to be anywhere else. Best bar in Dunkeld.

Shame about the baseball cap wearing barman. He's a prick.

User

The revival that this fantastic pub has undergone is testament to the love and commitment the owners have in not only their business but in the town itself. The beer garden is now a fantastic palace to spend an evening and there are few bars in Scotland with a better view.

A great range of drinks, a fantastic menu and wonderful live music.

To be honest, I can't rate the Taybank too highly. 5 stars doesn't seem enough!

User

Stopped in a few weeks ago when visiting the homeland. Place is looking brilliant. Excellent food and the cocktail bar upstairs sets the standard for the modern day pub. Also, there is no finer beer garden in Scotland. End of discussion.

User

Quite simply one of the best pubs in the country, beautiful riverside setting on one of Scotland’s most stunning locations, outstanding weekly music sessions and live music at the weekends , fantastic food and an exquisite cocktail bar to rival any. The Taybank is truly the jewel in Dunkeld’s crown!

User

I've lived in Dunkeld almost 6 years now and worked here for almost 5. I've very much enjoyed my time here, meeting amazing people and listening to incredible music. It has always been my first choice of all the pubs in the area.

I started work here before the new owners took over and began renovating the building, they took a great pub and saved it from being turned into flats. They put a lot of time, effort and money into this business and in my opinion it absolutely shows, the beer garden in a much nicer area than it ever was, the quality of food has improved ten fold and the addition of the cocktail bar upstairs offers people something they've never had before in Birnam and Dunkeld.

I'm proud to have been a part of that and can't wait to enjoy for years to come.

User

Had a fantastic time listening to the live music on sunday. The musicians were amazing.Any place else & they’d be charging you at the door, couldn’t believe it was free. Will defo be back for another sunday session.

User

Great place for a pint and a bite to eat. Everyone was very friendly and if you are lucky you will catch some great live music. A real gem in Dunkeld.

User

Great place Inside and out. Staff and other visitors were all nice. Fantastic views. Average prices. We will be back.

User

Great bar, friendly staff in a fab location. Loved it! I don't get out to Dunkeld very often but I'll definitely be back at the Taybank on my next visit. I've heard good things about the music scene there too so hoping to catch one of their gigs on my next trip. Great spot. Thanks all

User

Friendly and entertaining. Great place to go in Dunkeld.

User

Fell in love with the Taybank and Dunkeld. We stopped in for a quick break from driving and ended up staying overnight in Dunkeld. The Taybank has it all. Good food, good live music and a cracking buzz about the place.

I'd recommend any tourists coming to Scotland to skip spending most of their time in the big cities and head for an authentic Scottish experience.

User

Fantastic pub! It’s the go to place for atmosphere and music in Dunkeld. I can’t commend the new owners highly enough for their care and attention when restoring the building. The staff and friendly, hard working and chatty. The place is really clean and the food is consistently of high standards. Dunkeld is really lucky to have people who’ll invest in projects like this which have great benefits to the community as a whole. It’s never a worry to direct tourists to the Taybank for a good pint and tunes.

User

Came into The Taybank after a long walk with our dogs and was given a warm welcome, as were the dogs! Its not often me and my partner both enjoy our meals but The Taybank was absolutely fantastic and we will definitely be visiting again! :)

User

Brilliant bar staff with the Patience of a Saint. I was in the bar today when a non-local visitor kicked off cos he wanted food at a table away down at the bottom of the garden, where they do not serve food.

To explain they have this policy so that the kitchen does not get overrun, and standards are upheld. The Taybank has approx a dozen tables outside available for food, they just exclude the handful by the river itself.

Anyway, back to the barstaff. How Greg did not lose it and tell the obnoxious self-righteous customer to "get on his bike" and go elsewhere is beyond me.

Fabulous, stunning bar. That as locals we are so proud of.

User

Best Prosecco Reds® possibly anywhere in the world and the cocktail bar upstairs is one of the best bit of craftsmanship I've seen in real life!

User

After extensive renovations, the building still stands and contains great live music.

The food and drink is excellent and the owners have succeeded in continuing a local feel whilst welcoming visitors.

User

A unique place that represents all that is good about Scottish bars for every type of weather. With a warm glowing log fire inside and beer garden where you can enjoy the view of the Tay river. I was really happy that they offer vegaterian haggis! And a taste of traditional and international beers and spontaneous outburst of live music from the talented bar staff and owner.. highly recommended place to vist.

User

Really hope new management address issues we've had in the past here, including being harassed by a group of local, drunk young men (we were two women eating in peace) it's a small bar and the staff saw what was going on but were young themselves and didn't seem to have any authority or understanding that it was up to them to intervene. When l later contacted the management l got no response. At other times it's been cold and chaotic. Such a beautiful location. Don't let the rest of Dunkeld down. Really hope you do the place justice.

User

For anyone who regularly visited The Taybank before the recent make-over, be aware that it's changed a lot. More plush and 'up-market-trendy', less musical instruments on the wall (do music sessions remain?), more pricey on the food and - for those who regularly detoured to have one of Taybank's specialities - no stovies :-(

Polite bar staff, as always, and a good riverside garden to drink beer or soft-drink. Though seeing your lemonade poured from an old bottle of half-flat Schweppes, is a bit dissapointing.

Their Facebook page replies are rather curt too - not what one would expect from any experiened customer-service-oriented manager.
