The Taynuilt

This has to be one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in!!
The food is absolutely superb, Chef Proprietor John is hugely talented and the Front of House team with David and Lauren, whose knowledge of wines and other drinks, is a real treat.
I recommend Etive Restaurant with a great deal of confidence.
Delighted they are now opening in Oban.

£4.80 for a warm bottle of joker from a dirty shelve... I think this place is being renovated so await a new review.

Excellent kitchen, delicious food, locally sourced when possible. Friendly service with plenty of context about the food you are having. We had the three course dinner. Absolutely the best food in Scotland so far.

Great food, abience, enthusiastic and helpful staff, worth every penny because it's all great quality ingredients. We've never had a bad experience and would recommend the food here to anyone who knows about good food.

Phenomenal food. Great wine. Rooms with an individual ambiance, not a corporate theme.

Overpriced and overrated. Had to wait 30 minutes to even be allowed to see a menu. Limited choice. The accommodation we were staying at in Taynuilt allegedly has an arrangement with The Taynuilt Etive to allow residents 20 percent discount on food but my partner's dish apparently did not qualify. The persons at our accommodation promised to look into the matter but we heard nothing.
The owners are obviously not interested in local trade which would be their bread and butter out of the tourist season.
Poor selection of drinks and no draught beer with only a minimal selection of bottled beers.

Lovely restaurant with rooms near Oban. We had a great stay in the room number one. The room is spacious and the design inspired by boats.
The owner and the staff are dedicated and very friendly. They made us feel at home.
We enjoyed a delicious and high quality diner and breakfast. I would come back any day for the delicious egg Benedict !
I would recommend a stop to all food, whisky and gin lovers !

This a lovely warm,friendly hotel,the food was excellent, Taynult is a lovely scenic area, good for walks,photographers dream. Nice comfy bed to back at the hotel
