Meet Léa, a new member of the reception team.
"I have been at The Torridon for two months now and my job mainly entails multi-tasking and guest relations. As I interact with the guests through email, phone and face-to-face, organisational skills are needed in order to keep up. Mostly, I am part of a team so good communication and being a team player is important."

For many chefs and kitchens, spring is the most anticipated time of the year, the change of the weather and season brings a bounty of new ingredients to inspire and it is no different for our Head Chef Ross Stovold.

May is National Walking Month. Walking is a fantastic way to keep active and maintain a healthy lifestyle and you can do as much or as little as you like. We have short walks in and around the resort or our Outdoors team can take you out for the day on a guided walk and you can discover the wilderness of Wester Ross.

To add to the inclusive luxury experience that we provide, and in association with Morgan Motor Company and Pride of Britain Hotels, our guests have the opportunity to experience getting behind the wheel of the longest running production vehicle in the world. Great to be featured on the North Coast 500 website with our classic car experience.

Our kitchen garden is looking better and greener by the day and is bathed in sunshine. We have kohl rabi, fennel, radishes, kale, parsley, rhubarb, beans, lettuce and much more.

We are blessed that we get such an incredible view of the stars on a regular basis. Stephen Mackintosh explained that the wilderness surrounding The Torridon is classified as a ‘Bortle 1 or 2 location’. This means that The Torridon is amongst the clearest locations on earth and we can experience rich views of the Milky Way and thousands of naked eye stars. The Torridon is the perfect place to experience the night sky in all it’s glory. Experience the stars and experience the Torridon.

A lot of the design elements around the hotel come from co-owner Rohaise Rose-Bristow who has a keen eye for design and has recently renovated three of the hotel bedrooms. Last year Rohaise renovated rooms 1, 3 and 4. These were the first rooms completed by Rohaise without interior design assistance. We sat down with Rohaise to discuss her design process.

Our Whisky Bar boasts 365 Malt Whiskies (lets not forget the 120 Gins too). We can honestly say that there are few places in the world that can beat the whisky bar at The Torridon for choice. If you can't pick a favourite or one to try perhaps you would like to experience a whisky tasting where we can guide you through the regions, tastes and ages.

Redpoint Beach is a hidden treasure on the coast looking out towards Skye. Its only a 40 mile drive from us and a beautiful beach regardless of the weather. Perhaps somewhere to go if you were to hire our Morgan Motor Company car for the day?

Went to The Torridon today for my mums birthday and had afternoon tea, absolutely amazing, the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us, even letting us have soup before the tea, the best afternoon tea I've had, would totally recommend a trip up there, hotel is beautiful, scenery is stunning and the service is superb

User

We had a great stay at The Torridon Inn for the Celtman Extreme Triathlon! Friendly, helpful staff and went out of their way putting on a breakfast at 2am!! Thanks #trihardmumanddad

We celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary with a trip round the West coast. The Torridon was our final stop - and the pinnacle of a wonderful week.

Room 2 was simply perfect. Loch and mountain views. Acres of space. Flawless in its design, comfort and facilities. The whole team made us feel instantly at home.

A friend who recommend the hotel described it perfectly. The Torridon is "a big warm hug".

User

The best hotel we have ever stayed in! From the moment we drove up the driveway everything was a “WOW!” Stunning decor, stylish rooms, friendly efficient staff, fabulous food and the backdrop of Loch Torridon and The Torridon Hills, the most perfect location you could wish for! Thank you so much to the wonderful Torridon Team, we didn’t want to leave and are already planning our next visit. 🙂

User

The accommodations were really excellent, as well as the setting. The food was very good and the staff were very professional and courteous.

User

The Torridon is such a special and favorite place of ours. We came to celebrate our honeymoon and everything from the room to dinner to activities was all amazing! We are so grateful for the time we spent there. We will definitely go back again and again!

User

Stopped off here for afternoon tea yesterday on our travels and were blown away by just how stunning the hotel and surroundings are. The staff provided outstanding service, very welcoming and accommodating and the food was just delicious and beautifully presented. Cannot recommend this place enough! Will definitely be visiting again!

Stayed just 1 night on a NC500 tour but wished it was longer! Stunning hotel, with faultless service by all the restaurant and bar staff throughout our stay. Immaculate rooms and cosy inviting public rooms. Not to mention the most amazing bar. All set in gorgeous surroundings. Not cheap, but the highest levels of service.

Thoroughly recommended.

User

Stayed for one truly amazing night to celebrate a special birthday, and in hindsight we wish we had stayed for at least one more night. The service is impeccable, the staff amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Having stayed at a number of the best hotels in the world I can honestly say the whole Torridon experience is truly on a par with the best of the very best. The Torridon suite was exquisite, comfortable and vibrant; definitely worth booking. We had the pleasure of joining Jack, Cuilin and Rui for a guided walk which was a wonderful introduction the the area and the hotel.

A special thank you to the team for helping me fulfil a lifetimes ambition of viewing wild otters in their natural habitat so thank you Team Torridon for making lifetime memories from my sister and I.

User

Really nice hotel with lovely views, also dog friendly which is a bonus for us.. will be going again at some point. Lovely friendly staff and a tasty selection of local beers 🍺

Our third trip to Torridon, and although each time before we thought the hotel and staff had excelled in providing first class services, the New Year's Eve experience topped it. We felt more like family, the staff were perfect and there was nothing they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. The New Year's Eve banquet was sensational, we have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world, the feast provided by the chefs certainly equalled the standard of food we have been served elsewhere. We are now booking our return for 2017 new year, thank you to all the staff, I'm sure Dan is very proud of you all xxxx

User

Just returned from a wonderful weekend at The Torridon. Got married there 18 years ago and this was a return trip. Nothing is too much trouble and the food was to die for, we won’t leave it so long until the next visit...PS you now have a converted gin drinker, took a bottle of Arcturus home, can’t wait to share it.

User

If you want the best then look no further than the Torridon, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful, the food was amazing in presentation and taste. Also it is set in beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back.

I'm not certain that I am eloquent enough to convey just how wonderful The Torridon Hotel is, but I'll give it a bash. My husband and I were married here in December 2015. From planning stages (with the super efficient and enthusiastic Bridget) to when we checked out the day after our wedding, everything was perfect. I arrived the evening before our wedding to be greeted by a group of Torridon staff who helpfully carried all our belongings from the car to the various bedrooms. Staff were polite and helpful, nothing was ever too much for them. The bedrooms are decorated and maintained to the highest of standards; with a modern twist that is very respectful of the building's heritage. The wee tubs of Temple Spa foot balm placed on the pillows at bedtime was a very nice touch. Now the food - I could write paragraphs about the food! - was just simply delicious! We sampled breakfast, afternoon tea and a 5 course dinner; all of which was a delight to the taste buds. My personal favourite was the Torridon's take on rhubarb crumble - very unique. Finally - if anyone is thinking about getting married here - do it. The staff will ensure that it is the most perfect of days. A big thanks to all the staff at The Torridon - your hotel is one of a kind!

Firstly, my partner and I were just dining on the 29th December.

It was a special occasion with it being my birthday and I have wanted to visit the Torridon for years.

From arriving at the Torridon, with the Christmas tree lit, the fires roaring and the overall feel of warmth when we entered I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed.

The selection of gins was unbelievable and we were totally spoilt for choice.

This was where we had the only slight issue with the whole evening - the two bar men.. initially they were quite obstructive and offered no advice when it came to our drink selection - my partner and I are in our 20's and I fear it may have been a case of judging a book by its cover.. but once it came to ordering our second drink they seemed to warm a little.

I often struggle with fine dining due to the fact I struggle with cream and butter but when ordering the delightful Ross informed me that the chef himself has a lactose intolerance and I had nothing to worry about.

Upon arriving in the dining room we were greeted by Peter. The most helpful, professional and warm waiter I've ever experienced. He instantly commented on it being my birthday and made me feel very important from the moment I sat down.

Now the food - there are no words to describe the wonder of our meal that evening. It was, from start to finish the finest dining experience we have ever had.

I would like to say that without a doubt the Torridon is the most exquisite place we have ever visited and I can not wait to return and have the full Torridon experience and stay. Thankyou for making my birthday feel so special.

Excellent service, accommodation and superb setting. As an owner of a former tourism business in the Highlands, catering for international elite clients, I would say the quality of this hotel is head and shoulders above all others. It excels in every department: excellent and varied cuisine; fresh decor in rooms and suites, combined with a traditional yet vivacious style complemented by traditional highland authenticity. 5 stars. I will be happy to visit again soon.

User

Big thanks to the Torridon team for a great mini break, we loved every time and will most definitely be returning. Great food, great service, lovely room and yes and the gin is good too!!

User

A wonderful little hotel in the Scottish Highlands that has a well deserved reputation as one of the country's finest. Excellent food, including a good bit from their own garden. Wonderful drinks. The largest room and most comfortable bed we slept in during our two weeks in the U.K. Outstanding views of the loch and mountains surrounding the place. Overall, worth every pound paid for the stay. Thank you!

User

A very relaxing stay in Chestnut Cottage at the hotel. Food was superb and staff made our stay a very relaxed one! We chose to do the coasteering on Sunday morning....saw the loch from a different point of view! We will definitely go back.
